...oh, I don't know. Any of Robbie Winters, Kevin Gallacher, Paddy Connolly or Paul Sturrock? Small and sharp, often played wide? Anyway, what do you make of him so far? He's getting a good few spells of playing time now and seems to be handling it well, and now has his first SPL goal for us. I've really liked what I've seen of him, albeit his right foot is so bad it got the last youth team coach sacked. |

Mmm. I haven't seen him play bar little bits on the highlights. I hope he does show something, like we were discussing a few weeks ago, there seems to be a number of youngsters of whom the club have been expecting something from and nothing yet seems to happen. I really hope that by the end of the season Russell, McCord, Dow are regularly impressing. |

I am sure I, or someone i know terribly well, spoke very highly of Russell on another Board we once frequented where I rated him more highly than the currently over performing and emotionally fragile Goodwillie. I like him a lot. Very talented and composed young player. I hope Goodie keeps hi form up until the window when we get some decent cash for him knowing that we have at least one player ready and able to take his place. |

He seems to be very effective - nice touches, good pace, good eye for goal and full of confidence. Will be nice to see him get some chances, and he's done well on loan everypalce. Not sure if he'd rather play up front that out wide though. |

He certainly looks promising but it's rather premature to suggest that he's ready to replace Goodwillie quite yet. |

Remember Goodie has only recently established himself as a first team regular and so it is not a great leap to see Russell do the same in Goodie's absence. It is following the same pattern, He is a boy with promise, blooded in the lower leagues an then brought back to join the senior squad and being given opportunities to shine in the big team. As I have said, I think he is a better player than Goodie (although Goodie's form has been excellent of late) and a damn sight more stable. |

I think for all of last season, he was near the front of the queue for strikers, and the season before he was a strong option to have. Russell seems just becoming the latter, so would have to progress quick to be the first name on the team sheet this season at least. |

Please feel free to specify your areas of disagreement Ivan. Your gratuitous insults surely are an unwanted lagacy of a past life I thought you had left behind. |

Granted, Ivan's smileys are uttely chuckleworthy, but a month? I barely go half an hour without being highly amused at something or other. Need a hug?

Perhaps you have mistaken my ennui for penitence, YazooArab. Yay, for not only am I unrepetant but I do experience great glee in bearing witness to your proclaimed discomfiture. However, since I am a generous commentator I shall attempt to elucidate: Only a total fanny would suggest that Russell is anywhere near as good as Goodwillie. Here to help, bud.

I regret that I have no information either way on his relative height and girth. |

According to Captain Daly, he's the new Noel Hunt... I think that Ivan and Yaz have both omitted crucial qualifications from their posts. Ivan's needing a 'yet' and Yaz is needing a 'could be'. Just thought I'd chip that in before we needed to contact the UN. |
