Depends where you buy your iron and feathers and what the prevaling exchange rate is.

The feathers, because of all the chickens attached to them.

Neither weighs itself. Ever.

It's a difficult choice. I almost couldn't decide, but I'm going to go for feathers as there are more of them than iron.

But is £1 of feathers heavier than £1 of iron? If both cost £1 per pound (lb) we are still in quite a pickle.

If a pound of feathers and a pound of iron were dropped from a helicopter simultaneously, which would hit the ground first?

Is the helicopter flying over a cliff at the time? If it happens to be a sea cliff, then one of them might not ever hit the ground.

Which is more aerodynamically packaged?

Is the helicopter 100% horizontal at the time?

Are both dropped from the same height on the helicopter?

I'm sure all of us REM fans know well that the feathers hit the ground before the weight can leave the air.

Though I appreciate answering questions through the wisdom of Stipe might be a dangerous road to travel down.

The iron ore Hebei/Tangshan spot price is currently 1370 yuan per metric tonne, which is approximately £130. Therefore, £1 will buy you 7.7 kilos of iron ore, or a bit less than 16 pounds.

Feather pricing varies hugely, but a completely random benchmark ("exotic feathers for crafts" from Rainbow Creations) suggests 100 feathers cost £2.50 and weigh 7 grammes. I make that £1 buys you just 2.8 grams of feathers, or 0.006 pounds.

So, in summary, when offered a choice between death or Mau Mau you're best to choose the former.

You've failed to notice that the helicopter is hovering inside a very large truck, travelling along the M6.

What was that one about again? Was it you who I was arguing against? Good times
