There's no reason other than charity. I'm not fussed, but can see why it might be done.

Unless we want to appear nice so when they go bust, we can attract some of their support more quickly.

I can appreciate helping a non-direct rival club, one whose fans don't hate us. Like Stirling Albion, or something. Or Gothenburg, a club we have a happy (despite the defeat) history with.

I like your cunning, and would be a pollution-stained, grimy lining to the cloud.

Seems we're in a bit of a pickle here between "club" and "fans" here.

An "administration derby" would be no different from a corporate calendar, a charity auction or a black-tie fundraiser. The company involved is just collecting donations and stealing the goodwill. By agreeing to play the game, Dundee United FC have the chance to look kindly and benevolent to their neighbours for no actual outlay. The actual burden of charity falls on you.

If DUFC wants the reflected beneficence of rattling a collection tin, so be it. But I see many more deserving charities out there than Dundee Football Club, and hope you do too.

I won't be going, charity begins at home and United are hardly rolling in it. Unfortunately, we would likely have a bigger relative away turnout for a derby than for a home game at Tannadice. Which is mental.
