Will happen. Before Santa comes. And I'll be back in Scotland, so I'll go.

Do we get 50% of gate reciepts?

Seems like a good idea though, need to play them at least one more time.

Cant see us putting out many first-teamers for this. How about the same teams as in May '83?

Proper teams, I believe. All money to the Fun minus 'limited' expenses.

I would struggle to make myself go to this one, if all money going to them. It was only a year ago that some of their arsehole fans 'boycotted' the derby friendly where all money was split 50/50 for youth development.

I do care about their survival - not for 'the mighty DFC' but for the ordinary people working at Dens, for the local community (pubs etc) but it really leaves a sour taste the way we are expected to forget all their crap - boycotting Tannadice because we offered to groundshare FFS!

I don't even care about their survival. Shame about the ordinary staff, but almost every aspect of the club has pissed me off at some point in the past few years, with the players and results being a notable exception.

Likewise, WT. All things must pass. And, if the circumstances were reversed (as they could've been, easily, and stil might I guess) I'd say the same.

Also, what's the point of this game? Charity. That's all. There's no competitive impetus, no reward. There would be the usual local noise about "bragging rights" and so on, of course, but in reality it's a spectacle, a show, a piece of theatre. Staging it indicates the clubs think you'll part with cash sheeplike to watch any contrived, irrelevant game. I don't like clubs -- any clubs -- viewing fans in this way. Because, without competition, sport is meaningless.

Did we have a derby for the workers at NCR and give them all the proceeds? Erm no so let's not have any more of this pish about doing it for the the "little people" that are losing their jobs. A badly run local company is in trouble it is not for us, one of said company's competitors, to make any attempt to save it. They really are not worth it anymore. Time to switch of the machine.

Good point. Of all the companies or workers threatened at this time, DFC are near the bottom of those deserving of charity.

For me, it's not about the little people or jobs. I know plenty of Dundee fans, there's plenty in my family, it's more about them, and all the other fans I'd say.

I can't see it making much difference, but it is just a small charitable guesture for fans I think.

Real Hate? Or just usual dislike because rivals or some other factors?

A mixture of jealousy, inferiority complex, and rivalry.

You saw their general view when United offered the groundshare. Why should we pity and help them?

Just to clarify, is this actually happening? I've seen all the noise here and elsewhere, of course, but can't find any reference from a source better than "ma mate wha kens ane o th' directors like."

There's no reason other than charity. I'm not fussed, but can see why it might be done.

Unless we want to appear nice so when they go bust, we can attract some of their support more quickly.
