Think that's been the worst game, in terms of both teams seen for a while. hibs looked out of sorts, and didn't offer much going forward, but still looked more dangerous than us at times.

Midfield was woeful. Gomis (I presume) was on the left, but was barley there, other players having to cover him, and causing us to look all over the place in the middle. Good job Swanson could do something.

Defence was good enough, Watson was good, and I thought Douglas was best player. Attacked well and decent enough defensively. Was even a bit of width when he got forward.

Goodwillie seemed even more hyper than usual, but nothting much was happening, Daly was poor again I felt, oppertuniutes missed all round.

Ref was a bit too keen to give fouls at every oppertunity, but was decent enough.

If Dow can't get in that side, then he must be feeling useless.

Two poor teams but United rather less poor than Hibs. We were never troubled and I'd like see the penalty incident again. Given that it was Galbraith who went down I'd want to check whether there was contact from a United player or whether he was sent tumbling by a stray gust of wind (the diving wee bawbag). Riordan was utterly anonymous and they don't have any one else capable of anything decent.

But, we were also pretty poor. Nominally Davie Robertson played right, Gomis left but everyone drifted inside and got under each other's feet. Goodie was excellent as ever (presumably 'hyper' was meant as an insult, I'd have said effervescent) and was always the most likely to score. That the goal came from a sublime touch from Swanson was fitting and showed exactly what we're missing without him and Conway.

A well deserved win but we won't play teams as shite as Hibs every week.

Not at all, critisism would be when he's unhyper. If he's running around bumping into people and falling over and moaning and all that, he's at his best.

My second match at tannadice this serason and we won both 1-0 with Goodie scoring. It wasn't a clasic match by any means. Hibs had chances today but they sent them past the post. Playing against a better team we could have lost a few goals. How bad were Hibs today.

I was in the shed so i don't know much about the penalty. It was a poor penalty, Pernis didn't have much to do to save it. Swansons came on with 20 mins to go. He lays on the goal for Goodie then he comes off injured. I hope we see him again this year.

Withought Goodwillie we'd be near the bottom of the table.

Not injured apparently, just knackered.

I'm happy if he is just tired was good to have him back. We were struggling without him. I wonder if he will be back on the bench next week. Might be risky to have him starting.

Aye, I think he's a few weeks away from starting. Houstie mentioned on the arabzone interview that Swanson will get another 20-25 minutes in a closed door game on Monday.

Question: can we afford to sell Goodwillie in January? And can we afford not to?

I'd hope we can get more than what was on offer for conway at least, which might make it harder to turn down, even if it's not the 3m or whatever that was talked about before.

From the team's point of view, there was only 1 person on the park yesterday likely to score, goodwillie, since Daly was having an off day. Butwhile Daly will score, We'd lose a lot without Goodwillie in the team.

Still say we should sell him though. His form's not likely to get any better anytime soon, although he might get scotland call up to increase his profile value I guess.

We can't afford to sell Goodwillie at all just now unless we get a silly offer. If we don't start getting other players scoring goals , when Goodwillie leaves we'll slide down to the bottom of the table. That's why we need more appearances from Russell, Dow and Hilson when he comes back from Forfar. Daly isn't doing it just now.

I'd say we shouldn't, because he's floating the team right now and without him, the worth of the others would plummet with our league position
