I see Strachan has ripped up his contract and walked away from 'boro. According to the radio Mowbray is an early favourite for the position.

When he started buying his favourite Rangers/Celtic XI it had the feel of death or glory.

What has he done to Kris Boyd? Don't get me wrong I hate the fud, but he looks even more like he's never been near a training ground.

Would be fun for McManus etc who Mowbary couldn't wait to get rid of to have him as manager again...

At least Strachan's free for Scotland again. He's got to get that job sooner or later...

Yep no doubt a few bricks being dispensed in the 'Boro camp with that rumour

(Chairman Steve) Gibson said: "Gordon is a very rare guy. He is better for knowing. I like him enormously, but it just hasn't worked and we had to face up to it.

"The integrity he has shown, he made life very easy for me. Not only did he offer his resignation, but in doing so, he tore up his contract.

"He sought no compensation, he walked away from the club with empty hands, and it's a measure of the man."

I like Strachan enormously too, even when he was at Parkhead. Remember arguing quite a lot that he should replace Ivan Golac. He's always come over as being a very decent sort with his priorities in order. He's also clever and witty -- far wittier than the journalists trying to ask him mundane questions, which has often been his undoing. Unfortunately, this latter characteristic should rule him out of being Scotland manager. The nation (or at least the journalists who act as its moral compass) seems unable to accept anything but the most banal statements from its national Jonah.

Not sure, even when he was at celtic, or before, with the same attitude, he was always touted by the media as the fans choice for the job, and seemed close to getting it.

I think he's a good manager, didn't work for him at middlesboro, but sure he'll get another job and do well.

Can't imagine Mark McGhee welcomed the news that his old pal was suddenly available again either. Don't know what odds anyone would give me on Strachan being Dons boss by the end of this month?

There is also another of his old teams that sacked their manager last week . Gordon must be pretty well off by now and he was prepared to rip up his Boro contract, maybe he will take the Dees on as a charity case :D .

His interviews were always good for a video compilation, but I always thought his management was incredibly negative.

From one reasonably successful Celtic manager to one who was anything but.

I am sure Messrs McDonald, Robson, Flood will all be delighted

That would be for getting a team relegated and making a team worse and uncompetitive would it...

Wonder if Robson / Flood fancy a loan return if it does't work out again...
