Anyone a fan of this scottish band during my university days in the 90's me and my flatmates were all big fans and spent many nights smoking dope listening to them (as they say in south park there is time and a place for that and that place is college)

Until this day their tigermilk and sinister albums are always on my cd changer/mp3 device, anyway they have a new album out I got it today

It will always struggle to compare with the old ones as listening to those old tunes brings back happy memories and I always felt the band had gone downhill after Isobel campbell left.

But here goes

The album is definetley better than the last offering (the life pursuit) with about three stand out tracks My favourite so far is "I want the world to stop"

The Ghost of rockschool is another nice track and I reckon it could be a grower. The track with Norah Jones just doesn't do anything for me and would probably appeal more to her fans. The album title track "write about love" features actress Carey Mulligan (an education) and is a nice although short song with a catchy riff ( even if hollywood actress Carey sings the line "I hate my job everyday i'm stuck in an office" ).

It is definetley better than the last offering but can't compare to tigermilk and sinister in my opinion but I might have my purple haze goggles on when it comes to them.

Tigermilk is a wonderful album, I Don't Love Anyone is possibly my favourite B&S track. I was a little dissapointed with The Life Pursuit, but I suspect I will still pick up the new one.
