Anyone else feeling slightly uneasy about all this coverage around the rescue operation for those miners?

Sky News, of course, are advertising their "non stop" coverage as though this is a Champions League match. I feel quite uneasy about this, given the nature of the task ahead it feels really inappropriate for the media to be presenting this as some sort of triumphant home coming.

Then again, given how much of the media is inapproriate etc etc, there would be nothing in it I guess.

The Beeb apparently has 25 of their staff at the mine covering the story

Thats almost as many as there are miners, good to see them spending the licence fee to support the hoteliers of Copapia

I guessthey can't lose. Exciting rescue or catastrophe , good news to show . Given that apparently. They're not in good shape , ad would expect, it does seem to be a bit much showing live. At least not pay per view yet.

And there's not much else happening right now...

I'm watching it just now. It's very moving, even for a heartless bastard like me.
