Given if he is 1/5 of the price of webster then he is a good signing but he is no webster

he is a back up central defender his main position is midfielder and he is clearly playing out of position his wayward hands just one indication.

I didn't see any handball's personally and am quite happy with him at centre half.

Two, pretty much identical to the one Whittaker was penalised for last week. Better judgement shown by McDonald than the Swiss dude.

I think the strangest thing from the game has been the way both clubs are disliking the ref so much.

Celtic saying that once it's a penalty, got to be a penalty. I'm sure they'll have used the 'why didn't he consult with his linesman who had a better view' before when it suited if they wanted to argue the opposite.

Their position, as illustrated by Andy Walker, is complete bullshit.

Once the penalty is taken then you'd have a hard job changing your mind, but until play restarts the ref can do whatever he thinks is right. I will admit, I was impressed McDonald changed his decision yesterday. Didn't think he had it in him.

I thought the ref did quite well. A couple of unnecessary bookings, but that was about it. And, as for the penalty, anyone who argues that an error should stand due to protocol is obviously a f*ckwit.

I think part of it is before the Rangers game, the whole victim of bad ref stuff always does the job. I couldn't believe Walker, but then again, he's say anything for the satisfaction of someone talking about him.

The linesman has apparently quit.

BBC

Which is strange.

Conspiracy among celtic supporters seems to be that he didn't make the decision, but the ref used him to change his mind.

That, for once, is not Celtic paranoia. I refer you to a story from Mark Guidi in the Record last week, which lacks subtlety as well as basic grammar:

Quote:

A source close to Craven said: Certain people have been happy to make out the assistant referee asked for the referee to come and see him as he felt he had made a mistake. Thats not correct. Dougie felt hed made a mistake and told Steven this as soon as he approached him.

The referee appeared to want it look as though Steven instigated this.

Steven did have doubts about the penalty award but did not want to interfere with Dougies decision. It was only when Dougie ran to him that he offered his opinion.

Steven has felt for a while he hasnt had enough support from the SFA and this is the final straw.

He feels he has been made the fall guy to protect others. Its felt theres been a cover-up.

To which the only rational response is: can Scottish football get any more pathetic?

What I don't get is that Lemonm's (predictive text. I like it) problem is with the referee. Surely the real bad guy is Broadfoot. Why isn't Lemonm calling his integrity into question? Or just calling him a plain cheat, which is the inference in saying 'the ref's got it wrong'?

Maybe Broadfoot can't award them a soft pen in the next game, or the next old firm game.

Overall, whether it's the pressure, or the SFA making inconsistent decisions, it all seems to make things a bit worse. Wonder what Mr Dallas will make of it all.

I guess that's because managers, even mental subnormals like Lemon, realise that you can't criticise the opposition for fear of your own charges doing something identical next week. For anyone who doesn't fancy being called a hypocrite, referees are easy targets. Easy, fat, lumbering, clueless targets.

My main problem with referees is that, by looking at them, none of them have played football in their lives.

In answer to my "can Scottish football get any more pathetic?" question earlier:

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sunday-mail/2...86908-22677852/

You'd have thought: "I called him over and said I thought he was wrong" was at worst a minor qualitative distinction from "He called me over and said I thought he was wrong."

Remember when the Sunday papers were full of bullshit transfer speculation? I miss those days.

It just seems to be getting more and more complicated. I can understand Celtic not wanting to let go of an issue where they think they've got something more concrete than the usual conspiracies. Sure someone like Levein would have done the same. But I'm sure there'll be enough confusion that nothing will happen.

If a ref did lie to a manager about what happened, and they're not seriously punished, it will look prettt weak.

If there wasd ever any doubt that Celtic and their fans are the most tiresome group in the SPL then this should end it.
