To be fair, he could hit a 40-yard volley that ended world poverty, and he'd still get abuse. Scalff or not, I'll take it

Not a bad result considering the injuries and all. Strike force seems to be in good shape again this year. Keeps us in a good place for a coule of weeks anyway, hiopefully get a few players recovered for the Celtic game now. |

Didn't sound like we were playing very well, picking up 3 points when you're not playing well is what can get you a Europa League spot at the end of the season. Or we can just win the Scottish Cup again for that. Either or. |

No. That wins you the league. In terms of football cliches, anyway. We're going to win the league. Repeat that to yourself ten times in a row and I guarantee you'll feel good. |

This was a strange game. There were a lot of good performances and at times we played some very, very good football, but also Kilmarnock enjoyed long seplls of domination where a better team would have punished us. We certainly played with a confidence and strut at times, convinced the game would come to us, and it did. I thought Goodie was utterly sensational. He was bursting with oonfidence, terrified the Kilmarnock defence, wanted the ball every time, was the focal point of everything that was good. His goal summed his recent form up. Inspired, cheeky, wonderful. Watching it, Daly suffers by comparison. Last season Goodie was finding his feet, and Daly was the senior partner, but this season Goodie could claim that and is so on top of his game he makes Daly look a little cumbersome. That said, he is an excellent foil for Goodie, dragging defenders out of position, holding the ball up and brining others into play. He'd be in my line up every time and he was delighted with his goal. Bauben was superb and Scotty Robertson had a good 45 mins. Also, Davie Robertson put in a great shift, his keeps the shape of the team and always gives us an outlet its not spectaular but it was effective. I did think that back 5 didn't work. The full backs looked a little exposed. If the ball went wide both Dixon and Dillon couldn't decide wether to play the wide player, or the player nearest them. Also both Dixon and Dillon had to do an enormous amount of work getting up to support the attack and then make it back (Dixon and Dillon's delivery was pretty good, esp Dixon). So if we had scored 5 I don't think it would have flattered us, but equally, there were spells that Kilmarnock had where they dominated us. We really miss COnway and swanson, we're so set up for their wide play, and if we try 5 at the back against the Timms we'll be rogered. Equally, if Goodie plays like he did today and we have Conway back we will cause their back 4 some real problems. |

I thought 2-0 flattered us, so Killie's unlikely last second counter when the game was long since over probably made it look more realistic. In all honesty, I thought that was the best Killie side I've seen in many years. I always picture them as dour, functional and sometimes (usually against United) effective. Today their passing was superb at times, United couldn't get near them for long spells. That said, when United did get the ball they used it well. I quite liked the 5-3-2 in the first but I accept that Killie did have a purple patch before half-time that would've convinced Houstie something needed changing. I was pretty much convinced we were waiting for a Killie equaliser up till about halfway through the second half, they were all over us. The second goal killed it dead though, and Wright's sending off was hilarious, especially when Mixu waved him away and told him to get up the tunnel. WA-HAYY! YA FAAAA-NNNNNY! How old is he now? When will he learn? My faves today, Goodie obviously, just superb, Scott Robertson and Buaben excellent and I thought Drobba was quietly effective, and I'm not a man who normally favours a player who runs so peculiarly. First time I've ever been to Rubgy Park and the natives were very nice, they even let the wee man in for nothing and I thought the age of the lift-him-overs was way behind. It doesn't happen at Tannadice. Oh, and if we ever nead a 6ft 5 centre half who wins everything in his own box then we do worse than look at Sissoko. He got the home team man of the match and I couldn't argue. |

AND - referee was infuriating. Some simple throw-ins/corners he got wrong and one hilariously bad application of the advantage rule that almost allowed Kilmarnock to score. Out of ten - a Fud. |

Just watched the ArabZone 'goals clip', wating to see the foul before Goodie scores.
Unless he's referring to Dixon being barged off the ball, and thinks we should have had a penalty, I've no idea what he's talking about. Also, Daly's goal was first-class. Excellent striking play with his back to goal inside the six-yard box. Killed the knock-down stone dead with his right foot, spun his marker (who was practically mounting him) and stuck it away with his left. Quality. |
