We're now nicely set up for a Daly and Conway brace each, nice work, gents.

Would you pass if you were playing alongside Jon Daly or Andis Shala? I say go on yourself, Goodie.

Daly has scored us plenty in the last 12 months, I'm not quite sure whether the criticism of him that has built up in the last few weeks is entirely warrented.

That easy chance could have been just the thing to get his confidence back.

As it is, his strike partner refused to lay it on a plate for him because he thought he'd f*ck it up. That can't help his confidence at all.

Come on now, the lot of you. Jon Daly is the absolute last person you'd want to pass to for a one on one if you were storming up the pitch, I'd rather lay it off to Garry Kenneth.

Are you for real?

I certainly am 4 reel.

Yep, the absolute last person you'd want to pass to for a one on one when storming up the park is the top goal scorer. The very last.

It's funny looking back at the abuse Davie Dodds used to get. A most ungainly, unlikely looking footballer who was nevertheless almost always in just about the right place to sclaff the ball over the line when we needed a goal. His link-up play was underrated, he was decent in the air, had a decent touch, and could frighten a central defensive pairing at 30 paces with a mere gaze. He could also unite supporters of both sides in renditions of "Davie Dodds! The elephant man! Da-a-vie Dodds! The elephant man!", yet was still overlooked by the Nobel committee who in their own way despised Dodds. Yet he got abuse from the usual contingents of the United support. Unbelievable.

I'd take Daly or Dodds any day over a popular dressage striker (*cough* Cads *cough* Crawford *cough*) who scores half as many goals and gets half as many assists.

Do you see a 'pyramid' or a 'tunnel'? This is an important psychological test, think carefully before answering.

So is the consensus that Jon Daly is the current equivalent of Davie Dodds and Cadamarteri our Stevie Crawford.

I like Jon Daly but those are some seriously misplaced comparisons.

Comparative in status within the squad of the time, not in actual footballing ability. Dodds was obviously a significantly better player than Daly ever will be.

Not sure what formation 442 with Drobba on the right, Gomis on the left and severin the holding midfielder or it could be 532.

Well done that boy. Sounds like it should have been a foul to them though. But we'll still take it.

To be fair, it was a shit goal. He sclaffed it, probably off-side too. Either that or he went to head it and it rolled off his knee. He never meant it. Woo-hoo Go United.
