My sympathy is with the denim chap to the right of the Scotland top wanker. The resignation in his look to camera says, "so it has come to this. Five thousand years of civilisation have come to this." Dillon Morris Donaldson Spittal Paton Demel Rankin Murray Anier Ofere 3-0 us. |

That is a brutal looking front three. I like it. I also like the spear-head style of the formation as a statement of intent. Let's batter them. 2-0. Anier, Ofere. |

Woah, loads of interest in this one 3 points today takes us to within 5 of Killie. Having lost the last two league games, this one is mahassive. Can only assume it's going to be very ugly too. Several players possibly missing for us though, which could make things tough. I'd like to see Fraser playing, and I'd rather not have Dixon in the team. If Demel doesn't make it, I'd go with Erskine. |

Well Mixu has to take responsibility for this utter drivel. I presume our suicidal defending is down to the drilling he keeps telling us he's doing with the team. And the decision to just good it aimlessly up front is agin his great tactical work through the week. |

Good fightback in the second half following a pretty poor first one. Luck wasn't with us for their opener and I'd need to see the offside again for the second but didn't seem to be there then either. Sending off a tad harsh maybe but it seemed a penalty. We then started to play and probably should have had the three points but given that with a minute left in both our and Killie's game we'd have been a further two points behind, we've got to be happy with it. Good scrapping in midfield from Paton and Rankin but I thought Dow just looked like he may have been starting to make an impact when he was hooked. Anier and Ofere mainly trying to foul their opponents isn't really much of a gameplan and didn't help any. When we try to play football we're not too bad, but seem surprisingly reluctant to do so at times. |

The aimless hoofing of the ball in the first half was absolutely infuriating. We're just not very good at that sort of stuff (not to say we're very good at silky pass and move, but we're marginally better when we get the ball down) - and when Fraser came on I felt he made a real difference in our ability to hold the ball and work some space out wide. I didn't agree with taking off Anier, and would have hooked Mackay, but I guess, the end just about justified the second half means. But our back three is an absolute bomb scare. And Sutton's commentary on their haplessness was very good, pains me to say it, but he absolutely had their collective uselessness well covered. Its hard to see them helping us to sneak the odd 1-0. |

Gunning should learn to keep control of his temper. Donaldson needs somebody to guide him through matches ie an Andy Webster type FFS if Webster can only get a game for St Mirren then it's a sad indictment of our situation. Morris is okay but injury prone Dixon fills me with fear as he had a decent covering player before with Gomis or Conway covering his many flaws in defence but hasn't got that now and it's very worrying |

1st half Dundee were the better team. Once again, we were hopeless in the air. Aimless hoofing aside (as Barca87 puts it) , there were far too many passes to no one. Their 1st goal was partly due to Donaldson allowing the cross from near the corner, but WTF were Gunning and Morris thinking of. They were either side of Hemmings in the box, then they both ran away from him, leaving him all by himself (think Donaldson's playing him on), so the ba goes straight to him, and has a shot under Kawashima for the goal. Gunning tries to clear but because he's so far away from the goal-line, he canna get to it in time. Their 2nd goal the majority of folk in the GF thought Stewart was offside. The lino didna half take pelters for it, including 1 too from Dixon that McLean booked him for. No sure if he was offside or no TBH, but it was close. 2nd half we were the better team. Things certainly changed when they went down to 10 after we scored from the penalty. But we didna take enough advantage of them going down to 10. There were times when you didna think Dundee were playin with 10 men. Our build-ups to their box seemed to be too slow. This gave Dundee plenty time to get enough men behind the ba esp. in the box. Even when we got around their box, there seemed to be a lot of pusyfootin aboot, and not for the 1st time this Season, I was left wondering if anyone's willing to take a shot. Of coorse it wasna helped by the fact that the slow build-ups to their box to begin with, let Dundee have plenty men back there to block all the attempts, passes, thru balls. But when we had them pinned in their own half for large parts of the 2nd half, I knew we were onto something. Play improved when Fraser came on, and even again when Murray came on. Knew he would trouble their back line. Gunning and Donaldson lost us possession due to no payin attention, and p1sh passes. Mind oe atleast one occasion in the 2nd half when it coulda been deadly. A sloppy couple oe passes between Gunning and Donaldson went badly wrong, and we lost the ba, with not one United player between the Dundee player and the box. This was indirectly as a result of the 3 at the back. And WTF is all this slipping and falling on the pitch aboot. Dixon and McKay esp. and 1 or 2 others. Dinna tell me they're gonna blame it on the sprinklers being on before the game. Stewart shoulda been off. Right on front of me. Coming together with Dixon. Dixon's on the ground, and Stewart stands on him. Chunt. Ref misses that, and so does the Lino. Hard to believe the officials are getting paid for this. There was even a comment from the copper who was standing beside me. Even Kawashima came over to Dixon. The GF Linesman should be giving his wages to the Royal Institution for the Blind this week. A welcome point that anyone of us would've taken being 0-2 down at the break, but still disappointed TBH. |

Doesn't matter. Need wins not draws, and Killie are bound to start picking up a few points. Harsh red for their goalie. |

I see everyone's miserable after watching us get a late equaliser in a local derby against a team that's 16 points ahead in the league. Bloody hell. This season really has sucked the fun out of everything. First half was pretty even, I'd argue, in the sense that both sides were shite. Their goals were a result of untidy defending: both onside, but needlessly. I've no issue with the tactics though. The long ball stuff was ugly as hell -- but thinking we'd do better with a passing game requires ignoring how the previous 29 games went. Not sure why Mixu's getting so much stick for the fact that the players aren't up to much. What's he meant to do? Shout at them until they get better at football? Or hypnosis, maybe? Second half ... Ofere should've come on 15 minutes earlier, certainly, as his brute force approach was quite effective against Dundee's siege formation. Plus there was an argument for subbing Dixon and moving Rankin to left back, so Dow and Anier could play wider behind McKay and Ofere. Think Mixu was right to keep three centre-backs on though. Our defence always looks fragile, as demonstrated by the open goal Dundee missed a few minutes before the equalier. The last thing you want to do is weaken your weakest link. Hoping Mixu's pantomime stuff at the end won't result in some SFA disciplinary nonsense. The game needs more pantomime stuff. Overall, I quite enjoyed that. It was an awful game, but was entertainingly awful. We'll miss this kind of spectacle next season when we're at Palmerston Park. |

As someone who neither was at nor watched the game, and indeed had forgotten we were playing until I was informed of the score by a female on Sunday evening, the result is really the only important thing. Might be different for those who saw how the game went, but I didn't. Just the score. The two points dropped at home. The gap to second bottom seems a yawning 7 points. Will we even achieve 7 points in the next 8 games if we assume Killie lose every remaining game? |
