Another game under the lights.
It's on TV I assume?

McGhee seems to have them playing decently enough but a win would really put the willies up Kilmarnock and perhaps even the Accies.
Hopefully Demel will return, allowing Rankin to move wide again.
Dillon seemed to do well, so perhaps Durnan to drop out for Gunning, if fit.
Zwick did okay too, so not fussed if Eiji needs another week's R&R.
Plus, Dow and Erskine made a difference on Saturday, so.... Ach, I dunno.

I'd take a draw now to preserve the momentum but I'd love a win to get it right up that wee shite MacDonald.

2-1 United. McKay, Spittall.

Can't see Mixu changing much from Saturday, although I assume Durnan is suspended for his Gunningesque red card. Paton took a bit of a clatter on Saturday and was subbed shortly after, but he's a tank and hopefully OK for this.

A good chance to wipe away the memory of the last motherwell game.

I assume Durnan is suspended for his Gunningesque red card.
Really? I thought a red for denying a goalscoring opportunity is classed the same as two yellows, meaning he'd be out of the semi. (Didn't think it was much of a foul, personally, but can't blame Graham for making the most of it. Certainly not violent conduct tho.)

Assuming I'm right:

Kawashima
Durnan Gunning Donaldson
Dillon Demel Rankin Rankin
Spittal
Anier McKay

(Formation is based on the idea that Dillon and Rankin will be able to stop Lasley and Pearson, who tend to be irritating. Spittal moves forward to provide a bit of guile behind two extremely limited strikers.)

Any roads...I think the dual award of POTM and MOTM have done for us

2-0 Well McDonald double and Paton sent aff on another day of shame for United in front of their 3000 travelling supporters

Unaccountably, I'm going to this one.

Not sure about that formation at all, Naebs.
The logic is sound but it looks horrible.
Plus, Spittall has been stand-out on that flank recently.
Since that ain't broke, let's not try to fix it.

Durnan made such a pathetic mess of things so that he then had to foul Graham and be sent off, I'd drop him anyway. Plus, it was only Graham. Just let him shoot.

Worst XI Ever from our resident tactical guru Naebs there. No way I'm dropping Dow and moving Spittal inside. Cloning Rankin though - interesting. Would the new one be younger?

Rankin, young wunderkind aside, is probably our best signing this century. He's given great service to the club since he was offloaded by the now-Championship side Hibernians. The kind of never say die pro every club needs but not every one has.

So, yeah, I'm in favour of the cloning proposal.

I'm thinking that even if the new cloned Rankin is the same biological age as its, err, parent, it's probably still worth it as it will be a fresh specimen without any wear and tear of a long career clogging and squiggling in Scottish midfield. He'll be good for at least five years.

Perhaps when we're making the clone, we can build in controls so he signs a contract, and doesn't leave to play for someone else for 5 years at the end of the season.

You're all very dismissive of the idea that we might rejig a team for a game against opposition that humped us three-scud at home a few weeks ago. Fuck you all, basically.

I realise I may be in the minority here, even in this haven from retards (such as it is), but I'd love to have a young-again Dillon and Rankin. Those guys are exactly what we need right now.
