We're on the up and no mistake!
.... And by playing McNamara's team. Eight JMc signings in the starting 11 on Saturday, plus three JMc regulars. No-one signed by Mixu.

The highlights make us look crap but lucky. Anier, in particular, looked the very definition of crap but lucky. I worry that "crap but lucky" is rarely enough in a relegation battle -- though it can occasionally deliver a cup win, as Golac proved.

That's good trivia, Conran The Alcoholic.

(I'm assuming it was you on the booze and not everyone else around you, oh, and that you have a problem)
A passing problem. I only binge drink.

I hope the club is paying Ross County for the damage some nutcases did to the seats.

We'll, we've done a statement...

Quote:

Dundee United has today issued a letter of apology to Ross County following the unacceptable behaviour of a small group of supporters on Saturday.

After an excellent William Hill Scottish Cup quarter final victory and tremendous backing from the vast majority of the 1,413 Dundee United fans who made the trip to Dingwall, it is extremely disappointing that such an apology has had to be made.

Having received clear evidence of damage to seats in the North Stand which housed the United fans as well as reports of seven arrests within the stadium, the Club will continue to do everything in its power to prevent this type of behaviour which is detrimental to the proud reputation of Dundee United Football Club and its fans. The Club will now work alongside Police Scotland and other agencies to facilitate appropriate action to be taken. Anyone found guilty of misconduct may be subject to immediate and long term bans from football stadiums.

In advance of this game, the Club deemed it had done everything in its power to work with supporters to prevent such behaviour. Several requests were made via our website and advisory notes were issued with each ticket purchase for this game highlighting the need for good behaviour. We even played the most unattractive football imaginable in order to discourage fans from attending. We reiterate once again, it is very disappointing that the actions of a few are damaging the reputation of the entire United support.

Make no mistake, Dundee United are fiercely proud of our extremely loyal and passionate support who over a difficult season have given unequivocal backing to the team. Most of our fans on Saturday behaved in entirely the proper manner, showed superb support and played a large part in helping secure victory. We simply cannot allow the inappropriate behaviour of a few individuals to stain that reputation.

As a Club we will continue to work hard to eliminate these ‘supporters’ and their unacceptable conduct from our matches. We would ask all United fans to remain vigilant and help prevent the behaviour of a few to tarnish our collective reputation.

brilliant insertion there- just wondering what a plastic moulded seat replacement would cost out of that £25k or so they'd have got out of the gate receipts from United fans

£100 a chair my @rse. I worked on the grandstand assemblies at the British Open Golf at St.Andrews last year, and the seats dinna cost a fraction of that. You can get a folding chair in Wickes for 8 quid, the frame of which are easily fixed into concrete. If Dross County are so phuckin miserable, we can bring our own. Nip into the Tesco Dingwall. They sell portable chairs for 3 quid.

Factor in Labour costs and getting chairs to match what's already there and £100 sounds cheap.

I could fit 4 of these seats per hour. 70 seats is 17.5 hours @ £19.40 per hour = £339.50. Even adding Vat (which they can claim back because it's classed as Building work) is only £407.40.

Seats price from our supplier would be between £10-50 quid per seat depending on the number ordered. If you order a minimum of 10, you pay £50 each. If you order 100, youll be about 40 quid each. Order a 1000 or more and you'd be a tenner each.

I did see mentioned elsewhere that there may have already been broken seats.
70 sounds like a riot happened.

Maybe they were just really cheap seats. Maybe if they'd installed good quality £150 pound seats, they'd withstand a bit of jumping and celebration.

But I'm sure all clubs have incidents like this from time to time. Hopefully it doesn't become a regular occurrence.

As I was leaving I clearly saw one buy standing on the back of a seat trying to break it. That's not accidental damage, cheap seats or over exuberance.

That's a c*nt.
