Well that turned into fun. We were clearly the better team and deserved the win overall, which surprised me considering I did not fancy our starting line up one bit. Spittal probably our best performer, but good marks also to Dillon and the midfield. And, god help me, Anier, who was there when it mattered despite some typically incompetent efforts in the first half. I guess he's better with clear chances from six yards. Donaldson baffles me. His first touch is disgusting, yet he can go for a wee wander with the ball and look quite accomplished, then sclaff a pass out of play under no pressure. Not sure who to blame for the first goal, but two free headers from a corner in the middle of the box can't be good. Zwick made one great save, blamelessly picked the ball out of the net twice, shanked a few kicks and that was it. Remarkably inactive. RossCo missed a trick pressurising him today as he looked rather, well, not nervous exactly as kind of depressed. Maybe shitting himself is more accurate. But it didn't cost us at all. No idea what happened for the penalty and red card as I was at the other end. Seemed like a funny position to have made a denying a clear goalscoring opportunity foul, but I really couldn't see what went on properly. I'm sure Craig Thomson was correct. Oh, and Dixon put one good cross in! Not seen that for a while. Anyway, a nice bit of grit was shown and we were much better down to ten men. Also, have we cone back from a goal down to win any game this season up til now? Good signs. |

Woohoo! There only wan Anier. What a thrilling emotional rollercoaster on 810Mw, I was not willing to settle for a draw today.![]() Roll on Sportscene this evening, after the uninspired opening titles we'll be treated to an insipid montage with Jonathan Sutherland doing something non football related, occasionally gazing wistfully into the camera as if he was performing King Lear at the Old Vic. The last round saw him wandering around the Guggenheim, lost in thought, carrying round a smaller version of the monolith from 2001, which the fixtures appeared on before cutting to some stylized, graphic heavy snippets from the games. The music was contrived hipster bait. The whole segment was surely the most cringeworthy of the decade. It then cut to him sitting stoney faced in the studio with the two usual suspects, he gave an introduction and then the program began to ease it's way into something resembling normality. Do the program makers have ideas above their station and forget it's a football show and not a vehicle to showcase their creativity? For sure. Is the person who edit's these sequences eccied out of his tiny mind? Without doubt. Putting aside the absurdity of such a sequence for a moment, the juxtaposition of such a montage is askew. Sandwiching it in there between the old fuddy duddy (homage to the past) overdone opening titles and the stilted atmosphere of 3 jaded men sitting in a nice, albeit sterile, studio environment. It doesn't work...and nor does that touchscreen shite they all walk over to and play with the button. But i'll get to that in June. Who knows what lies in store at 10.21 tonight. One thing is for sure. It doesn't belong on Sportscene. Enjoy. |

If this is what it takes to get more Mulee musings like that, then more please United. Perhaps the analysis section will focus on 3-3-3 or the Mixu Gangnam style dance when Mehkeh scored |

Best moment of the match, which I've just remembered over pint of tea and toast and marmalade, my own madeleine, was a great hoof to touch out from the middle that seemed to be sailing out of play on the left. The RossCo players left it, but not Dixon, who pursued it gamely. While still on the move up the touchline, the ball plummeted from the sky, and with the bridge of his foot, our little hero controlled the ball whilst moving it forward and slightly infield, never breaking his stride. This was enough to undo thecovering RossCo player who had realised too late that the ball might not be going out and was desperately trying to make up for lost ground. Can't remember what happened after that - maybe Dixon's good cross? Didn't matter, it was a beautiful little moment of skill. |

So, Hibs three times in four days then? I think, nay hope, the first leg would be brought forward, with the second leg put back. Especially if it's both teams involved. Still, imagine if we consigned them to another season in the Championship and won the cup against them... |

Well that's an awesome boost to win it in that manner. Didn't sound like there was much in the way of football, but hugely encouraging to see the team get stronger as the match went on, especially after taking what was a huge hammer blow in going a man and a goal down. Re the fixture congestion, just have to make sure we finish 10th. Only 2 points more. Simples Motherwell next. They picked up another win and despite being pretty rotten have done well to pick up a good amount of points recently. United will want to put right the wrongs from the previous match against them and I fancy us to get the 3 points there, which would take us within 5 and 7 points of Killie and Hamilton (we play the day before them) Ohhhhh Henry Henry! Henry Henry Henry Henry Henry Anierrr!

Have had a rough weekend, alcohol-wise, so apologies if I've made this point already, but it's a point I love and I'm happy to run the risk of saying it twice rather than chance that it may go unsaid. We scored two equalisers in quick succession yesterday, doubling our total of equalising goals scored in the entire season. (Dunfermline in diddy cup and Killie penalty away only previous) |

Addendum : I missed one. McKay scored another penalty equaliser v Killie at Tannadice on 12th Sept, although we went on to lose that game of course. |
