RIGHT listen up, This is a bad situation but now is the time to act like supporters and urge the team on, against all odds we need to be their confidence, their energy. Act in a positive fashion and let's power the players on. It doesn't matter if they are crap, make them believe they can do it We all need (especially me) a positive mental attitude. We need to be the leaders and surely the team will respond. At the very least we should all be United. |

Ok if we are going down fine but let's do all we can to motivate the team. We are supporters but some and I include myself in this are too easy and quick to blame people who are only human for mistakes. They are our representatives on that pitch let's show them we are united behind them and go for it. Some of you should be ashamed in those stands. The team needs support. |

I think those that have gone and watched the almost uninterruptedly turgid stuff experienced since Jan 15 are to be congratulated on their resilience, if not gluttony for psychological punishment. Most could see that the quality of the replacements looked poor in terms of both skill and physical and mental resilience. The experienced players seem honest enough, but they're not quite the ones that would mentor and bring on the younger generation. That's why I consider the sentimental re-signing of Dillon a mistake. Perhaps what surprised us most though was the speed at which the talent production factory line broke to pieces. All we seem to have left at the club now is a strong balance sheet (excluding player assets) and facilities infrastructure. The leadership spine is broken, we have a first team player squad of questionable motivation and fitness level and little evidence ( perhaps Spittal excepted) that younger players can make the leap in class to regular first team football. The only incentive for fans to watch from now on is the hope of witnessing a "journey" back ala Jambos but there's precious little sign of that so far. We could be down for three to four years on current evidence and I don't think our excellent chairman has deep enough pockets for that. I'll be surprised if many fans currently turning up do. Fortunes change quick -- as demonstrated by the fact that this time last year we were top or thereabouts. Yet people still think they can predict what a team will be like next season based on how it is this season. It's baffling. |

This isn't a time to shout and moan, It's a time for blind faith and encouragement over the nightmare about to overwhelm us |

Don't think too many are shouting - most are just grumbling and shuffling off reaching into their pockets for a Worthers or two |

That's a good point. The normal cycle of football teams has been utterly thrown out the window. Teams of our standing and wage structure and arguably quality basically stay together for 18 months max. Given we're playing the Jambos this weekend, this was our team that played them in December 2013: Dundee United: Cierzniak, Wilson (Watson), Dillon, Souttar, Robertson (Gomis), Paton, Rankin, Gauld, Armstrong, Graham (Goodwillie), Mackay-Steven Subs McCallum, Butcher Dow, Erskine Out of that side only Dillon, Paton and Rankin are left. That's pretty incredible in such a short period of time, that entire side has been dismantled. So who knows what our first XI will be like next season, let alone the one after that. |
