Must win game this, otherwise doomed.

Will we win? I dunno?

Anyone know?

Given that McGhee slated his players at the weekend, I'd expect them to come out all guns blazing.
We'll need to match them for endeavour and show a little more attacking verve than we did on Saturday.
I'd be tempted to move Demel forward, as he's wasted in the defensive midfield, and reinstate Rankin there, despite his good performances at wing-back.

So....

Kawa
Donaldson Gunning Dillon
Spittall Paton Rankin Dixon
Demel
Murray McKay

We're doomed regardless, but a win would be good fun.

Also, like the repeat the mistake so that it looks like you meant it the first time.

I think the team's fine, can tweak here or there, but overall, it's about effort and concentration. If we can do that, we've a chance.

The team's ok. If we weren't 12 adrift we wouldn't have any great concerns. But we are, sadly.

And while we're much improved, we're not improved enough to claw back that kind of chasm.

I think he's been isolated since his pre-contract with Partick was announced.
Which is fair enough, if you stop and imagine the reaction should he not perform flawlessly from now until the end of the season.

It is a chasm, Conan, no doubt.
But a win tonight turns it into a cliff, albeit with us at the bottom
Win the other game v Motherwell this month and we're looking at crossing a river in spate.
And then, who knows what geography-based analogies await us post-split?!

Volcano.

Is this the game we try something different upfront? The front two have managed one goal [Murray] and two assists [both Murray] since the turn of the year, whereas the bench is full of untried potential. I've no idea if Pongolle, Ofere or Riski are functional or even any good, but surely they'll have to get a game sometime. Otherwise, what was the point in them arriving?

Kawashima
Donaldson Gunniing Dillon
Spittal Demel Paton Dixon
Pongolle
Riski Murray

Think Muirhead should be starting upfront instead oe risky Riski.

Right enough. Totally forgot about him.
Probably not a great sign...

And try something new up-front by all means, Naebs, but you can't drop Rankin, surely?!

Rested, not dropped.

The way I see it, nearly everything positive that's happened for a few months has been accidental. Spittal was moved to right wing back by necessity and looked quite useful. Murray was brought in against Celtic by necessity and looked quite useful. Rankin was moved to left wing back by necessity and looked quite useful. From this, I conclude that we should do more random stuff, just to see what works. So: Rankin rested, Dixon in. Or Sukur. Or Knoyle. Not fussed really, so long as it's random.

could have sworn I saw Donaldson listed as a sub in the Development game today unless it was another one (?) . Would that mean Durnan is going to start tonight ?

conditions don't look good for football
