Couldn't agree more, Set. On both counts. I suspect that the outcome may well dictate the course taken for the remainder of the season: win and the board might sanction more signings; lose and we'll be cutting our cloth accordingly. You'd hope that the team won't go down without a fight and with Paton, Dow and, as we've seen, Murray all willing battlers, there's a chance. I'd rather stick with 5-4-1 (or 3-4-3, or whatever). If we changed now and won, it'd give fuel to all the pub bores who want to blame Mixu's tactics for not effecting an immediate turnaround. Dixon's out for this one, I think. So Dow comes in at wing back, because why not ... Kawashima McGowan Dillon Donaldson Spittal Demel Paton Dow Riski Murray Erskine (Pongolle for Erskine if the former's available.) A score draw would be the worst possible result, so that'd what I'm assuming. 1-1. |

Riski looked and played like some guy called up from the juniors. Fell on his arse more often than not. Maybe time to play those with an appetite to get stuck into the tackle, Paton, Erskine, rather than Soutter and Fraser for the game. Just what does Fraser bring to the table?? Scratches head and walks away

Touch, control, passing, ability to take the ball past people in tight spots. The opposite of Paton. Would be nice if there was room for both types of player in the team, rather than just people who'll win the ball, and then be at a loss what to do with it. |

Partick are very far from safe. Don't let us being so far detached fool you into thinking that someone else may not come down with us. You could easily argue that no one but the top three are certain of being in the Premier this time next year. (Though if you meant SPFL as in the whole of Scottish senior football, then you're right. That surely wasn't what you meant though?) Anyway, Fraser was rotten the other night but has looked very promising at times this season. I suspect he's being hit with the same malaise of lack of confidence that has sapped the entire playing staff for a year now. Hope he can recover from it. Edited by Cobardon, Jan 18 2016, 08:56 PM.

Is it a JMc-style front four that includes Spittal? Or two up front with Dow and Spittal as wingers? How curious. |
