Not sure if that's back 4 or 5.

Either way, chance for Donaldson.

I'd hope that Fraser, Erskine and Spittal can create a good number of chances today, even if the changed defense may give a few away .

Pretty sure that's a back three of Durnan, Dillon and Donaldson. No sign of Gunning on the bench either. (Likelihood of him having thrown a paddy at being dropped, because he owed his appearance money to a bookie: 60%.)

It'd be nice, though highly improbable, if we were comfortable enough to give runs to Riski, Paton and Muirhead in the second half.

Another important Spittal goal. Just need to defend now...

A win, no goals conceded, I'm happy.

Fudboy suspended. Donaldson played very well, I'd keep him in.

Michty me! A win over a struggling League 1 outfit with a new manager.

We're bound to go nap against re Sellick on Friday now. :lager:

Apparently we bid for the 18yo Airdrie keeper who was MoM today. Great news for Zwick, MCCallum and Szromnick.

Not quite the goal-fest that one might have hoped for but, as with all cup games, we're through to the next round.
With a clean sheet to boot.

Plus, we're not Hamilton!

eta -Or Aberdeen! ! !

Their keeper did very well, as did ours, one flappy punch aside.

Paton hailed like a returning King. Spittal did well, Dixon put in some great crosses. New boy looks fast. Durnan like a rabbit in headlights.

McKay is getting on my nerves with his slopey shoulders.

People left standing in the aisles cos Utd section full while three stands sit empty.

You mentioned Donaldson positively earlier, Conan. Did he maintain his performance for the full 90?
Oh, and was it a back three still?

Oh, and was it a back three still?
He went off with cramp with ten mins to go. He was good throughout I thought, strong in the air, assured on the ground. Talk of his demise exaggerated I feel.

It was still a back three, Dillon, Donaldson, Durnan. Demel moved back when Paton replaced Donaldson.

Knowing our luck, we'll get Annan next.

We are painted on for Sevco at the Crumbledome next round. Regan's minions are already temperature treating the balls.

Cheers for that.
Donaldson looked good on the highlights reel, directing people and berating someone after that first Airdrie chance.
He also played a cracking ball forward to Fraser(?) on the edge of the box.
Hopefully he's done enough to secure another start soon.

Durnan was summed up in his first appearance last night. Oh dear.

Still unsure about this back three malarkey generally and particularly yesterday.
I'm sure Mixu values continuity but three centre-backs smacks of overkill against one League One striker.
If there was a time to try four-at-the-back, it was this game, surely?

We've no wingers (well connolly seems to have dissappeared) and need width though, so I don't mind the system that pushes Dixon forward more. A lot of good things seems to come from that side.
