This one interests me as well.

Just say you won £68m and had a life so barren that Dundee United was literally your only concern. Would you:

#1. Buy United then recruit an entire new team of £3m-£5m type mercenaries in the hope that they can rescue the season.
#2. Buy United then put in silly, unrefusable offers to buy all the most important players from the opposition, in the hope of vandalising their results as well as improving your own.
#3. Buy a different SPFL team and immediately shut it down.

Of all the options, #3 appears the most cost effective.

Short term, aye, but long term cost of personal security might might be a problem. Plus, the dual ownership rules may prevent your evil plan if we only end up in a play off with Second Rangers or Hibs. Or Falkirk.

I'd probably shut town Ross County, as their fans seem the most apathetic. But, yeah, there's no failsafe option. The idea of forcing one club into liquidation, then watching United get relegated by a Stokes goal in the playoff, is all too plausible.

So the question is: can you save United from relegation with £68m? I'm not sure I can.

Yeah.

Give Dave King £50m and let him sell his club to you...you can guess the rest.

You look like getting that wish fulfilled at least. Even we weren't mince enough to be three down after ten minutes.

Looks like Hamilton are keen to wipe out the advantage they have over us with goal difference by the end of the night. This could be a confidence sapper for them. Ouch.

Maybe for the first time a wee bit of good fortune going our way.

That's a major blow for them.
Killie and Partick still to play them as well.
Goal difference could come in to play...

We'd still have to amass at least 14 further points for this result to matter at all.

Hamilton never needed to get any decent result in this game. All they need to do is stay ahead of us and in touch with everyone else up to the split- which they will.

Well, obviously.

Please don't interfere with our straw clutching over here. A pessimist may never be disappointed but at least an optimist has some good moments before the inevitable crushing failure.

The result may not matter but the manner of the defeat does.
Hamilton are on a downward trajectory.
We need to make sure ours becomes an upwards one.

I'm with Cob, what's wrong with optimism?
At least I have a few more weeks, hopefully, of anticipating our matches.
What's left for you pessimists, apart from coming on here with your missives of doom?
That's no kind of life.
