This is the first time this season when, listening to the game on the radio, I've actually felt angry that we've conceded late on. I suppose it's the hope that kills you. And anyone talking about progress, 'the signs are there' etc. can get to f*ck. We have a team (and a defensive unit in particular) of guys who are absolute bombscares. I wouldn't care if Kawashima was 5'1" and had one arm at this point, he's badly needed. |

The viewing of the one hour highlights Alba prog suggests that we are still so brittle at the back that it wouldn't matter how many goals we score. But that decision to take McKay off before the end and put Dillon on.......why invite Caley onto you when they've little to lose? And once more our failure to prevent crosses from out wide is just plain juvenile. Even McNamara has started winning. Edited by TheDean, Dec 19 2015, 11:25 PM.

Watched those Alba highlights last night and things have definitely improved again. Excepting the defence, of course. Not sure what the answer is there, as we looked as shaky with a back three (or five, if you will) as we did with a back four. Whatever, we needed to be wiser to ICT's fairly obvious ploy of 'get it wide, wait for United to shuffle across towards the ball and then ping it to the back post'... Good to see Erskine complete a full match and his pressing seemed to invigorate McKay into running about a bit more when out of possession (not hard, to be honest). His link up play with Dixon looked promising too, providing an attacking outlet and keeping ICT at bay on that flank. Conversely, Fraser, while he played well, had a tendency to drift infield, meaning McGowan was isolated. This nullified the attacking aspect of his game and it was noticeable that most of ICT's threat came down our right. Which is unfortunate, as that's where Durnan plies his trade. Demel looked good again in flashes but is clearly still adapting to our game. It will be facinating to see what he makes of the derby... Rankin looked lively and I was glad he scored. Though his pressing game needs a little work as too often he rushed into a challenge only to lose the ball and leave us exposed with men up the park. Gunning ably demonstrated why he isn't playing at a higher level, mixing confident defending with, for example, trying a nutmeg in a one-on-one in the left-back position. And losing out... Sromnik did well enough generally but sold the equaliser I'm sorry to say. Although he wouldn't have had the cross to catch if Souttar had made a better fist of ushering their left-winger back downfield. I wonder if John has changed his mind about being a footballer and is just turning up for work now as he has to. He certainly doesn't look like a man enthused by his job. All in all, disappointing. But, given this season's form, cursing a draw in Inverness is no bad thing. As Mixu said post-match, we were only thirty seconds from a win, so we're getting closer... eta - fuck me! That might be my longest ever post. Phew! Edited by reekie, Dec 21 2015, 12:30 PM.
