Well, that was a real head-scratcher. Some really nice interplay leading to the goal and several other chances combined with bizarre attacking decisions and a (still) fragile confidence. I note Gunning's back to the form of his previous spell: good defensive play mixed with borderline psychpothic behaviour. I wonder about the wisdom of having him around. We really started to wobble after he sclaffed a ball over his head for a corner and them squared up to Szromnik. He looks like quite a negative presence... Otherwise, we looked pretty good for the most part. Man of the Match was McGovern, which tells it's own story. Could (should?) have been 3-0 up at half-time and again could have scored twice before their equaliser. But when your luck's out... At least the team didn't get boo'd off the park. Oh.... |

In retrospect you should have opted to nip off down to camperdown at half time with father, theDean and tom bolland in tow and caught the last 2/3rds of the Good Dinosaur. |

This result was mainly of our own making. Having watched that you wouldna think we were playing Hamilton at Tannadice Agree with reekie that we shouldve been 3 up at the break. 2 phuckin sitters that shoulda been netted in the 1st half. Same again 2nd half. Another 2 brilliant opportunities missed. Can no chunt just phuckin boot it inta the net. Other than when we got the ball forward ourselves into Hamilton's half, it took us nearly 8 minutes to challenge them in their own half. It was like watching a game of phucking ping-pong them passing the ball across their back players for minutes on end. Far too much back-passing for me. Don't know what the keeper was thinking of playing all these short kicks and throws to the back 4 esp. Durnan. And the balls out to McGowan. WTF ? Their 2nd goal was a phuckin nonsense, coming from a kiddy-on clearance Some of the thru balls for McKay were terrible. Everyone of them was picked-up by a Hamiton defender, or their keeper. Can only imagine that Mixu doesna have lot of confidence in some of the squad judging by the subs. 2 games in a row where he hasna played Murraymints. There must be something wrong we me, coz I was sitting there wishing him on. Taggart in the 89th minute FFS. Thoroughly p1ssed off. |

Games like today are why I sometimes feel like I shouldn't attend games. It was miserable seeing the crowd constantly get on the backs of the players for carrying out the managers tactics - even when it was working. There was no point in playing long balls to McKay against two giants. But any attempt to pass the ball out from the back was jeered and moaned at. Even though it several times created the space for the likes of Souttar and Telfer to operate in create in, many fans seem unable to accept passing as a tactic. Also, we clearly weren't closing down either of their central defenders when they had ball, forcing them to play long and onto our defenders who could win the ball. Which I though was a good plan, since Gunning / Durnan won most of them, and it avoided the likes of Spittal, Telfer and Souttar from having to tackle as much. But many in the crowd moaned and jeered when we didn't chase Hamilton all around the pitch. In the first half, Hamilton barely had a shot. The tactics were working. What's not surprising is that the players got nervous late on, the crowd got even more nervous and it was inevitable. I'm sure many players, and the manager, will be looking forward to some away games. |

Well they've got Kilie next haven't they? And that should be that for season 15/16. We now need a couple of years in the championship to rebuild what the ISIS of York has dynamited in less than 12 months. By the way, I saw what happened at the game today last week. Yo do wish managers would learn, instead of watching the Good Dinosaur. |

What would you have done differently? Except hope McKay scored one of his 4 good chances. Edited by Setenza, Nov 28 2015, 10:03 PM.

It is nonsense, isn't it, the ignorance fans come up with? United made a good dozen chances and Accies scored with their only two. It strikes me as a very successful game plan to have 12 to 2 chances. If you can't take them, and they take their two then obviously you're screwed, but it's hard to imagine what more you can do as a boss. Having said that, when the going got tough in the last half hour it may have been an idea to put on Demel to firm things up, give the crowd a lift and consolidate a lead - albeit a slender one. The kick out thing needs a plan B too, as I said before. Apart from that, we were much the better team and should have won handsomely. Oh, and the ball really isn't running for United right now. That's more worrying than the form, as there's no way to change it. And bad luck is more of a killer than anything else. Oh well. Must be tough being Mixu right now. |

All season we have struggled in the last 30 mins, usually when things aren't going well. Hopefully Demel will help to add some drive in the middle to keep our focus and shape. Or have somone, anyone, able to come on and liven things up. Right now all we have is the prospect of Murray coming on to run around a lot to applause. Still the BBC Stats say we only had 1 shot all game, so maybe yesterday was a horrible dream. |

That is the worst feeling. Maybe other teams, perhaps even all teams, suffer from it, but it often feels like we're worse at it than most. As some poster on here exemplifies, every fan has a selection of vocal arseholes which can be difficult to ignore for the majority of reasonable fans. Particularly when things are not going great, the few moaners drown out the many sitting in anxious silence watching change develop. Only cheers drown out the boos, and the team needs to give the fans something to cheer. Set - did you say anything to the moaners around you? Did you feel they were in the minority or that others around you were getting sick of them? |

The BBC stats are pretty shocking. It's not just the ludicrous shots on goal, but they have Hamilton down for 7 fouls. That was their first half total...I counted 17 over the 90. I can accept being a foul or two out...I may well be with my count as you miss stuff when the pace gets up...but if they're going to just make shit up, why bother at all? Anyway, two wins from our next two games and perhaps we can stop the 'already down' feeling that so many fans seem to have. |

I do despair a bit when I see fans getting angry about us actually trying to keep possession. What would they rather, that we just boot a ball down the park to a small striker? it's depressing. Clearly, we need to be able to vary our approach, but the demand to just get up the other end, where it will soon becoming right back down towards us, is not going to help us at all. But then again, I think at times our fans are the worst for moaning. I mind one game I was at last season against Motherwell at Fir Park in November and the abuse Armstrong took repeatedly for trying to play football was utterly ludicrous. When I asked one guy about it, he first of all obviouslytold me to eff off (fair enough), before ranting on about getting up the park, not enough desire, etc etc. Sometimes I think there is no hope for Scottish football, let alone us this season. |
