I think we can take points up North over the next couple of weeks but Telfer and Connolly are going to think sharper and protect the ball better,
I think it's all about how much we want to risk things. Telfer / Connolly are going to take more chances, but with the upside that we're going to keep the ball more. Today it mostly worked, but of course, we're taking chances.

I'd rather we took that approach, than the pack the midfield with Butcher / Paton etc all of the time, which means our forward players are taken out of the game.

Against ICT / St Johnstone however, it's going to be tough, as they're set up to stop us playing, and even better teams are going to struggle. But still, it's more fun to watch.

Judging by the Alba highlights:

Souttar excellent -- which is a wee bit irritating as it makes all the arseholes who were calling for him to be moved out of centre back earlier in the season think they were right. Arseholes.

Rankin looked really good as well. Revitalised, even. He'll never be the guy to find the killer pass, of course, but he was a constant energy in the middle and surprisingly lively coming forward. If he and Souttar can keep playing like that (and assuming Souttar's here next season), it's probably worth the sacrifice of the latter not fulfilling his promise of becoming the next Maldini.

Telfer can weight a pass beautifully. The question needing asked is whether he can do anything else. Still unconvinced.

Ciftci, by playing well out of position , showed how good he'd be in Telfer's position. He's strong, witty, unselfish (!) and composed. He's just not a winger.

Muirhead looks a nightmare to play against. His decision-making is seriously suspect though (such as in a first half counter attack when Telfer pinged him an easy one-two running into the box but Muirhead inexplicably turned inside instead). Hopefully that's just his age, but I've a concern it might be his brain.

Rado - outstanding
The back 4 - were superb.
Souttar -he gave the ball away once so it's 99/100 for me
Spitspots best performance yet

Shifty - run about daft yestersay. More like it, but still too greedy with the ball.
Muirhead - great performance, brilliant touch, great link up with Shifty

Rankin - thought his passing pretty poor most of the game. 1st half - he had the ball just at the edge of the Aberdeen box, where he shouldve hit it low and hard into the centre of the box in the hope that Shifty or Spitspot would wallop it in  or it would coms off somebody's leg into goal. 2nd half he got the ball off a sheepshagger in our box but thenruns towards the goal with the ball, colliding with Dickers then lost possesion in the box. Jeez.

Telfer on a number of occasions was part of 1-2 moves with Shifty etc, but his final pass was a letdown IMO. Shouldve been taken off for Squid.

Son of Aiden struggled against the bug fishwives. Scott Smith played well, but shouldve been on earlier.

A hard fought game, by both sides with a few missed opportunities for more goals. Once again JMac left changes too late.
