TBH, I think we played pretty well 1st half, apart from the faux-pas where our opposition get a free punt of a goal from a set-piece. All too often this Season. 2nd half wax abysmal. Starting line-up looked wrong to me, esp. with Paton starting. He's not a favourite of mine, but he pkayed better today than he has since Dens. Substitutions were too late and wrong too. He took son of Paddy off, when he was probably the MOTM for me. Well between him and Squid, and possibky Shifty, who both looked knackered by the end and shoulda been off. Shifty was all the park the day acting as sweeper and generally tidying up other folk's mistakes. But 2 criticisms are necessary. He takes far too long to get back onside from an off position. 2nd half a number of times. And also wish he's learn to keep his trap shut, and stop arguing with the Ref in the belief he's got the sole power to get them to change their mind. Dillon MOTM. No for me anyway. Ridiculous that we havent won a game in 2 months, except Stranraer. Think 3rd spot is probabky gone now, and we have to rely on Smelsick getting the treble to have a chance of Europe, and that's only if we can maintain 4th. The feeling I got from my fellow supporters around me at the final whistle, was one of wanting heads to roll, and it didnt ease matters when the song "Dont Blame Me" came blaring out the tannoy. |

Well at least Killies defeat means we are top 6 safe but frankly the front players have started packing for their holidays, the midfielders aren't at the pace of the game and the defenders (Souttar excepted) have been appallingly bad today. Dillons MoTM was ironic and met with a surge of supporters making for the exits. There were a few boos for McNamara but he's unsackable now. I kinda hope his two compadres aren't because it is their fault we are so bad just now. We can now only hope that the opportunity is taken to rebuild the system before the end of the season and start setting some important development objectives for the younger squad players in the close before a major clear out of some experienced players who have badly failed over the last two months. So the next few games gives us the opportunity to say a long goodbye to Dillon, rankin, Rado, and Jarek as well as the expected Graham's and Midges. Don't be surprised though to see Keefs return. Dillon has been so bad that our exposure at RB necessitates it. Btw Dixon will need a good kick up the erse- he was awful today, again. And it's the FB areas are both where we clearly need cover for. |

He came on again today and never even threatened to change the game. On balance I was in favour of his signing but he has been so piss- poor that I would be falling over myself to check his contract for get out clauses. It may not be his fault that we don't have a system that he fits into, but we can't accommodate him much longer. |

Yeah, Dixon was very poor. Should've had a red as well, needlessly. Not yet convinced he was a sensible signing. The most positive thing I can say is that Muirhead looks a big, direct, uncomplicated type. Can't see any disadvantage to chucking him in now. |

We're not quite officially top 6 yet: if we were to lose all our remaining four matches - including against Hamilton next weekend - we could even see our 12 goal cushion v them be eroded enough to go behind them into 7th. We've still got to go to Pittodrie...and somewhere else. Thing is all the tables I can see make us played 29 but we only seem to have three games to go. How does that work? Did we got docked a game because the SPFL hate us? Anyway, anyone else notice that St Johnstone are now one point behind us and have picked up 13 points because of the goals of one Brian Graham? Wonder if he'd have given us a more effective option ahead of old Henri today, eh? |

Graham used to operate as an effective out ball target and Nadir was able to feed off his flick ons. It'll be interesting to see if the Saintees offer him a contract but I reckon he thinks he's too good for them and awaiting the call from Barcelona. |

Was really happy with the way we started, thought we had good movement, tried to pass the ball and were close to opening them on on several occasions. Of course, we can't defend. Ross County got a lot of players forward at times - can see why they are on good form, they aren't just there to sit back. Thought Fojut was good, and Souttar was good, aside from largely being unable to win much against his man, either in open play or set pieces. But his passing out from the back once again was good. Dillon was a bit loose in possesion going forward. The Man Of Match award triggered a wonderful 3 minute rant from some guy behind. For someone who provided a lot of ammo to Daly, Dixon seems to be reluctant to throw the same balls in. Thought Paton and Rakin did ok in the first half, and importantly pushed forward. Which they didn't do in the second half. Erskine and Spittal I thought worked hard but were just not accurate enough with their final pass. With a bit more quality, we could have got through them more. Connolly showed up well also - pace is what we need in the team, but more than that, he was finding space. Second half, Conolly, Erskine and Spittal were dominated in midfield, while Paton and Rakin fell back and offered next to nothing. Was quite worrying how there was so little reaction at any point , from players or manager, as we slide back and back and went from being playing well to looking like we had absolutely nothing to offer. Confidence is obviously low, but we need to start rebuilding it soon. Ref was, unsurprisingly for McLean, was awful. Scared to make decisions - they should have had a penalty, a decent shout for a red card. Either didn't see thing, or didn't know what to do when he did. He missed about 3 late challenges on united players and didn't even get the free kick. Then to sum it all up, didn't notice the ross county player block our free kick, so blew for full time instead. Had he not blocked it, we'd have had one more attack. Overall, glad the derby being sold out means I don't need to decide whether to go or not. |

He was useful when we needed a target, which was mostly end of games. For example, at the end of the game today we had Ciftci, Anier and Muirhead on the pitch. I've no real idea where they were meant to be playing, and they offered very little. Anier and Muirhead haven't really impressed or show their usefulness, either if we go direct or if we try to pass it. Not wanting to pretend Graham was great or that I'd want to re-sign him, but he had his uses. |

I reckon JMac is done for. The fans are basically idiots - yes. I'm an elitist - and I reckon McNamara's days are done. Matter of weeks at the outside. Pity. |

There's an argument to say JMc was unfortunate yesterday. Sticking with PatKin was dispiriting but understandable, given it was a game he really didn't want to lose, and the first half proved the logic of the team selection. However, it was pretty clear by ten minutes into the second half that County had rearranged to nullify Connolly, which is when a change should've happened: Rankin off, Muirhead on. Instead, JMc chose to take off Connolly and had the misfortune of losing a goal shortly before the change was made. The sense of fatalism from that point onwards was crushing, which led to the "MOAR STRIKERS" desperation that destroyed what little fluency the team had. Given the depth of the current slough, it seems inevitable that a JMc "mutual consent" exit will look like least bad option for Thompson. The next game will go a long way to deciding when that happens. |

If that is the case I hope it happens quickly because we need someone in to assess the current squad and re-organise the training regime. I still think he's unsackable though. I'd just concentrate on getting rid of his hangers on - who we definitely do not need. |

WTF? We're sacking him cos the team has slumped after we sold our two best players to the best team in the country who we were about to play four times? Are we mental? Jackie must not go. Certainly not based on the exceptional circumstances of the past two months. If the fans are up in arms en masse at the revealing of the manager's contact details which include some possibly rather sensible incentives, then they are mental and idiots. I remain to hear any evidence of what exactly particular members of our coaching staff are doing wrong, so until then I'm dismissing such innuendo as unfounded. Things aren't great just at the minute but they're also not too bad. |

An expensive dismissal, if that's someone's plan. The triumvirate is contracted until 2017. He's got to get what his now his team (JMc said some months ago that he wouldn't regard it as his team until this summer) playing in preparation for next season. As I've said on another thread, I hope we don't qualify for Europe - and a competitive start on 2 July. An unnecessary disruption. * By the way, is there any truth in the comments I've read on other forums in recent weeks that the youth coach Stevie Campbell is leaving? Edited by Hamish, Apr 5 2015, 07:55 PM.
