You obviously took a break from supporting United between 1999 and 2004 if you think this time is the worst for caving in.

If the players feel half as disillusioned as I do then it's no wonder we got pumped 4-0.
But why should they be so? Show a bit of passion for gawds sake.

I can't say much about last night's game, Zeek, having not seen it. But in the previous two the players didn't seem to lack passion. What they lacked was ability.

The way McGowan is claiming a bye kick does not suggest he got much on the ball. I'm struggling to see contact with ball or Henderson there.
I just can't work it out, even in slowmo. The ball totally disappears for about ten frames. McGowan himself also disappears for a bit.

Am toying with the idea of some gnocchi tonight. Bit of Sacla's new dairy-free pesto, some cashews, a few hojiblanca olives, couple of pine nuts crushed on top.

You?

I don't think it's possible to tell from that angle, it's covering everything that we need to see to make a decision.

And apparently we've appealed it.

Not sure it's a good thing if he's able to play on Saturday.

I've got it.

Henderson sees the tackle coming, pokes the ball under McGowan, ball probably scraping his arse on the way, and entirely evades his challenge but goes down under some light Connolly fouling.

You're a monster.

Meanwhile, from in the windy cavern of nonsense that is Ronny Deila's head:

Quote:

It is stupid to tackle like that on the sidelines. We need to get that out of football. It is a youngster standing there with a little trick. You can either stay or go in with both feet, as I see it. You can injure him for life. But I have to see it one more time. He must be frustrated, that's why he did it.

Anything to add on Stokes, you deluded wanktrumpet?

Quote:

There were some angry and disappointed players. I spoke a bit to Stokesy, he got a knock in the his mouth and was bleeding in challenge with Paton and he reacted. I have to see it again to see if it was a red card.

Thought so.

The first Stokes elbow has to be the least dubious of all the 6 red cards so far. Once you spot it (well done the ref in this instance) there's no argument.

Or is there?

I've managed to make all 5 other red cards disappear on repeated viewings, but would have sent Stokes off twice and also given Ciftci a red for kicking at Brown's head.

Guidetti seemed pretty enraged by it.
Guidetti was also enraged a few days earlier that someone else wanted to take a penalty. There's a body of evidence to suggest Guidetti might just be a c*nt.

Aside from the ball's funny exit, that looks like a straightforward tackle.
The way McGowan is claiming a bye kick does not suggest he got much on the ball. I'm struggling to see contact with ball or Henderson there. But it was a bit of a two-footed lunge which seems to result in a red card whether an opposition player suffers from it or not.
Its a one footed lunge. He challenges with his right foot, his left is behind him.

So he and Dillon have both been sent off for one foot challenges, while Brown's two footed through the man challenge was deemed okay on more than one occasion. (First by the referee then the guys using retrospective evidence) okay it sucks that Celtic are better than us, and what was a massively promising season has fallen apart, but these inconsistencies in rulings are infuriating.

Like what is the criteria for a red card? Is McGowans challenge considered seriously reckless and dangerous? On what basis, that he left his feet? That the Celtic guy fell over? That Celtic were angry so it must be serious?

It annoys me that celtic players apparently get to referee the game. Any time they get something they dont like they react furiously, putting pressure on the ref to take serious action. The decision to send off mcgowan was made on the back of the Celtic players reaction (guidetti and izaguirre), will they face any action for that? That acceptable behaviour? Controlling their players?

Maybe if united had run to Brown after his challenge, or ran screaming to the ref when Dow went down in the final we might get more. I'm glad we don't do things like that, but its like being punished for it.

Oh and terrible defending at the goals, I dread what the rest of the game was like

I think the fact the game was won and it looked like a petty act of violence that didn't help either.

I presume there's another camera angle somewhere that will show it clearer.

In order to change celtic / brown having authority to referee the games, it need someone to stand up to them and highlight it on a more consistent basis. Can't say I'd be too happy with matching some of their actions but if no-one highlights and questions them, it's easy for the ref to make the easy call time and time again.

Assuming the SFA panel clears McGowan, as surely it must, then he has a quite straightforward defamation case against Delia. It's not on to publicly accuse a professional of misconduct on no grounds whatsoever.

I'd also argue that Guidetti, at the very least, should have a visit to Hampden to explain why he went in with his hands raised post the tackle.

If that's a sending off tackle we can look forward to games being 8 v 8 in the near future. :ermm:

Good gifwork Naebs.

Is that even a foul?

Bound to be rescinded, one would think.

As a wise woman once said, You know the courts might not work anymore, but as long as everyone is videotaping everyone else justice will be done.

From that second angle, I see him getting the ball, and the challenge coming in from the side, with the side of the foot. Sure it's physical and aggressive, but hardly comes into the realm of serious foul play.

See normally the bosses back the ref on calls like these, but with the brown precedent just a matter of days earlier, it'd be ludicrous that they could deem Brown's OK, but not McGowan's. That said, I have a feeling they may just do that.

And Delia is a fud! Don't get me started on his pish!
