VD has got off, surprisingly.
Paton failed in his appeal however, and has been given an extra two game ban for his second non-existent offence this season.

Butcher has also been banned, even though charges weren't brought, and they've thrown in a two match ban for Rado as well for having too many consonants in his surname.

How can it be from an incident that involved a reckless tackle, stamp and two cases of retaliation, the SFA are punishing only one person? That is some crazy sort of maths.

Surely logic dictates that if Van Dijk can stamp on Butcher's leg then Ciftci can kick Brown in the neck?

Also, the SFA have murdered Terry Pratchett.

I guess given the SFA are about to declare a convicted tax evader a fit ad proper person, they need to chuck Celtic a bone.

When do we get the Paton decision? Can't separate the actual news from all the people on Twitter being "hilarious".

(Perversely, kinda hoping Paton's red sticks now. If the SFA are going to go wanko, they may as well go full wanko.)

Internet says Ciftici has won his appeal.

Do they just toss a coin or something?

It's true. It's the daftness of putting that word 'deliberately' in the charge I reckon. Try proving that, numbskulls.

Is that three times now that Ciftci has beaten the beaks?

Think I'm going to use this as a screensaver from now on.

It was indeed another "not proven" verdict. I'm confident the SFA panel's read up on enough philosophical burden of proof literature to deal with such a tricky concept, though, otherwise the entire disciplinary procedure's going to be rendered useless by evidentialism.

Rather surprising that Ciftci got off. I think Cob is right that the inclusion of "deliberately" made the charge hard to prove. Any good lawyer loves an overly detailed charge where he can establish reasonable doubt based on one element of the charge.

Anyone know who was representing Ciftci? That lawyer/agent Liam O'Donnell has done some good work for us in the past.

Fair enough that VVD was also let off his red.

I loved that at 3pm Celtic fans were talking about the SFA finally seeing sense, and then by 5pm the SFA were back to indulging in anti-Celtic conspiracy activities.

Wow, that really is the most damning angle. He really goes for schlitze brown.
Team predictions? Rado, obviously. I think Butcher, Paton and Connolly will start as a show of defiance, Ranks will start. Dow, perhaps... defence? Dillon, Fojut, McGowan, _____
Can Morris replace Dixon without too much shufflin around?

Surprisingly, the eventual verdict is some sensible sort of maths.

Brown kicked Ciftci, so Ciftci kicked Brown, so Van Dijk kicked Paton, so Paton kicked Van Dijk. But Paton didn't kick Van Dijk. Therefore, Van Dijk couldn't have kicked Paton. And since Brown hasn't deliberately kicked Ciftci, there was no reason for Ciftci to deliberately kick Brown. So to recap, nothing happened. It was a quiet afternoon with few talking points.

Dixon plays this one, Muley.
