So .... Anier, right? Right?
It is that missing piece. Or will be if Ciftic is out, as he's capable of scoring out of nothing.

Must be time for a Rankin long range shot...

So, all we need to do to beat them is have an average team of players well drilled and organised. So we're half way there.
Also, we'll be needing a player who can do this.

Maybe Celtic will sign Swanson now?

Hopefully feeling a bit more optimistic about this one now.

Wonder if we can fix it so that the old hampden pitch remains?

I'd imagine the team will be as close to the last game as possible, but obviously big change up front.

Otherwise, still unsure who's suspended or not, but they should be as affected as us.

Seems like Morris is fit. So, Dillon or Morris?

I'd probably go with Morris.

................... Cz
. McGowan Morris Fojut Dixon
........... Rankin Paton
Connolly ... Butcher ... Dow
............... Erskine

Tough on Dillon to drop to the bench, but he offers the most versatility when we get someone sent off.

Is Dixon available? Not sure if you only miss the next game if you get any straight red or only for violently serious red misdemeanours.

Available I believe. You miss the next game in the same competition unless it's for violent conduct. So Van Dijk will be suspended for Sunday if his red is upheld but Dixon won't be suspended until the first League Cup game of next season.

Probs.

I think Dixon's ok for this one, but out of cup replay game in a week.

Morris is likely. Im actually rather miffed Utd didn't appeal Dixon's sending off on the grounds of being undeliberate. Arm went naturally in the air like it would when blocking any shot. Charlie Nicolas on the commentary thought it was pretty farcical too. Being penalised for natural instinct. Rules are for fools.

I'd go with Bilate up front, he looked good when he came on recently, and is going to be a bit more of an unsettling presence. I can see him causing ambrose a lot more problems than Anier.

Not sure on Dow or Erskine. Dow's not impressed me of late, but he generally is a good team player which we need.

Sorry, yes, that's what I meant. I clarified and then I confused.

I'm unconfident that undeliberate is a word. It should be though, it would be in 1984.

Ok, here's my thinking:

There's only one natural passer in the squad, and that's Telfer. If we're playing an out-and-out striker, Telfer has to play too. The alternative is to hope for supply via the wingers, and I don't anticipate getting much out of their full backs.

However, I'd much rather stick with the three-nutter midfield than risk Telfer being a passenger. That means picking a striker who's able to spend a lot of the game playing deep.

Bilate has shown he's a big awkward lump, while Anier's attributes are not yet apparent. Either of them would be a total gamble. Erskine, though, knows the job required. He might not offer much in the way of threat but he's able to hold the ball up for Dow and Connolly, both of whom have enough pace to cause problems.

In this formation, I reckon we might even be able to grab a consolation in the inevitable five-goal drubbing.

I'm sure in 90% of circumstances, the SFA makes the decision that they think will cause the least hassle.

With Paton, Butcher, Connolly Brown and van Dijk all playing on Sunday, not sure they're going to make the ref's job very easy.
