2. The Kelvingrove has an Alasdair Gray Retrospective, though I think it'll be finished by the time of the final.
I was a bit disappointed by it.

No illustrations from any of his books, which was what I really wanted to see. Nothing much on his writing at all, actually.

Also, I know there are several murals he's painted on people's walls around Glasgow in lieu of food when he was skint back which I thought might be nice to see.

No real story about him - a timeline of what he was up to, how he made ends meet, yes, even a bit of poverty porn in the hard times, and how and when it all turned good.

So there you are zico - come along to Glasgow and see the Gray exhibition to find out whether you disagree with me.

Well I intend to make an enjoyable weekend of it (until sometime after 3pm on the Sunday that is). Saturday dinner in the St Andrews eaterie where the MasterChef victorious chappie works, followed by an overnight stay in one of the Home of Golf's finer hotels.

And that's not forgetting the quarter final seven days before which, judging by the huge numbers of empty Tannadice seats available online, so far the season ticket holders have to date. At present, two of us are sitting in almost splendid isolation in one section of the George Fox upper. Isn't this game the best chance of a victory over Celtic in March?

Of my many trips to Glasgow for Celtic games, the only one I remember is the Scottish Cup game at Parkhead where we were 0-1 up until the 89th minute and still lost 2-1. I remember that game because it was so ridiculously bleak it felt like satire.
My hazy recall, from 1996 in the half-finished ground, is that it might have been the 86th minute.

I've got mine in the South Stand upper, so at least I'll have a good view of us getting pumped.

Plan to do a little celebrating before the game to allow me to get home timeously afterwards. May even make it home before full-time if all pans out as expected.
You in Section Q3 then Conan.

When I was in the shop, despite the fact that United (even according to their website) have the South Stand Upper, the nearesrt you can get to the Tunnel, is Q3.

No Q2. Q1 is marked for segregration, which mwans that Sections M1, M2, M3, M4, N1, N2, N3 and N4 ard all for Celtic fans, which means they are above us in the South Stand, as we are in Q1, Q2, P1, P2, and P3.
Aye, Q3.

Not sure they'll be above us though, unless they are doos.
Well spotted Cobs. What I should've said was:-

No Q2. Q1 is marked for segregration, which mwans that Sections M1, M2, M3, M4, N1, N2, N3 and N4 are all for Celtic fans, which means they are above us in the South Stand, as we are in O1, O2, P1, P2, (not Q1, Q2)

The Inter game showed again that despite the impressive SPL defensive record, they have weaknesses. We just need to exploit them. Maybe a player who good pace and movement, and another who can spot a pass from midfield.

That was the year we were in division 1. Owen Coyle scored for us I think?

Definitely 89th minute. Van Hugedonk header to equalise, then in injury time that little shit who looked like Barbra Streisand in A Star Is Born* picked up a stray backpass. Coyle with the opener on the rebound after a penalty so brick the ref couldn't do anything but award it.

* ETA: No it wasn't. Was thinking of Jorge Cadete. Was Andreas Thom. If you've become jaded to Two Girls One Cup, feel free to watch the highlights here.

It may have been a bricker of a pen but at least the ref saw fit to not even book the goalie for the clearest denial of a goal-scoring opportunity you ever did see. Phew, that might've blown the space-time continuum clean off its axis. They might have been forced to give us the East End of Hampden in 2015 if they'd started making equitable decisions like that back in the day, and that would never do.

From the Celtic wiki, at least the gaffer will be well aware of our Cup record against Celtic..... :fisted:

It appeared Celtic were running out of ideas until Jackie McNamara fired in a free-kick from the right which was perfectly weighted for Van Hooijdonk to send a powerful header past Maxwell.

BTW I could have sworn that was the Cup game Sérgio Gomes scored the goal below in, turns out it was our other bogey team that gubbed us in that one.......

Why bring up past defeats when we (me in particular) are so negative towards the cup final?

I well remember the Thom game. Devastating. I woke up the next morning to find my path to the bathroom blocked by a series of The Celtics flags and scarves, and even an early edition of the Record next to the lavvy, back page upwards.

My mum can be a right c*nt sometimes.

Because I'm not going.

Tell your mum I say hello.

Why no. I was eerily confident before that one.

Me too, I had a feeling in my testicles that in 94 it was finally going to be ours.

I have a feeling in the same area about this one, but this time it's going to be inflicted by one of Dr Marten's boots rather than the soft touch of a gentle lady's fingers...

Prostate exam?

Everyone seemed inexplicably confident ahead of the 1994 final. Go read the pre-game Final Hurdle for evidence. I guess the optimism was mostly because of Golac, the daffy bastard.
