Morris off in second half and Fojut suspended will not have helped and Rankin on that pitch??? A selection calamity + defensive disruption will not have helped , but will be interested to know how Spark and Muirhead played.**

Surely we must all now have realised that Macnamara hasn't a clue. His only "tactic" is the headless chicken formation. Utd have enough talented players despite the money grubbing efforts of the chairman that they can put together impressive attacks (the same goals for as Celtic for goodness sake !). Unfortunately mac's tactical incompetence and inability to drill a defence plus a keeper who's completely useless means that the attacking prowess is completely negated. To regularly score two goals away from home and not win is a mark of a poor side.

Forget about beating celtic. This side will do no better than fourth in the league.

The persistent lack of a good defence is worrying , but I think there's still more than enough good to make MacNamara a better manager than a bad one for now. It's a bit like arsenal, when no matter what's done, Wenger is always open to criticism for the way he sets up his teams and way he wants them to play. But getting us to the cup final both this year and last is surely worth something for what we could achieve under MacNamara.

And at least we see plenty goals...

Well it was never on in the first place with a leaky, and constantly disrupted defence and finally finished off by the disposal of two key players.

I think the point that Di putano and others are making is that the selection for the job at Killie could have been better , if not better informed by the training at the GA arena (aka Gussie).

At last though, people are waking up to the frailties of Rado and it'll only take a Van Dijk header from a first minute corner to finish our Scottish Cup challenge early Doors as well.

Let's not get carried away here though...we've been maddeningly inconsistent under Jackie. And the problem with maddeningly inconsistent teams is that they're er...maddeningly inconsistent.

We've been far more consistent this season than last, barring that November blitz last year, so I'd call that progress, particularly given the amount of talent he's been forced to sell. That's our first loss of the calendar year, isn't it? In mid February? Not exactly sackable, is it?

Even I have lost patience with Rado. He needs dropped.

We have good defenders individually, yet seem disorganised. What's Terry Butcher up to these days?

Agree whatsthat, in fact more than agree. 2nd / 3rd spot now distant possibilities, with the sheep and icy cold tea 6 points in front. Friday the 13th part 2 this, and as putano says, looking like 4th.

I think fourth's ok. Just get this cup final out the way and get papped out the Scottish by ra Sellick and we can down tools by end of March and get out in the garden early. Didn't really want to win anything anyway to be honest.

I'm busy on Scottish Cup final anyway, so quite relieved.

I guess the question is who to replace him. If McCallum is off on loan, then it's Szromnik.

I guess we've 3 home games coming up, home to St Johnstone maybe as good a time as any to try him out.

But I can't see us changing. We know Cierzniak is generally fine. All about if we want to think ahead to this season now, or if that's too much of a risk given the important games ahead.

Looking at the highlights, I think Rankin and Dillon are more to blame for the 2nd and 3rd goals than Cierzniak.

Why rankin couldn't easily clear the ball for the second, i'm not sure. From there Cierzniak should have got it, but should never have gotten that far.

And why Dillon falls back to the goal line which stops the keeper diving, I'm not sure either.

Cierzniak at fault for goal 2. Rankin also to blame. Too slow. Dillon for the 3rd? Well.......?

I would have liked to have signed Jamie Macdonald after his release from Hearts. Free as well. I think he was a fine goalie last season despite Hearts' troubles. Cierzniak was dodgy last season as well.

I see we're 11th in the Development League, with 48 goals conceded in 19 games. Szromnik is certainly getting a lot of practice.
