Got a bit lost in the Armstrong thread, so thought worth it's own topic.

Signing a young promising player from a rival club seems like a good move if we can add to the mix of good potential we have. 3 1/2 year deal, presume not going to cost a huge amount in wages.

He's got a decent amount of SPL experience, so should be able to put a bit of pressure on a few players, and adds options up front which we need.

Can't remember seeing him play, so will be intresting to see how he fits in.

Just so long as he stays of Twitter for a while.....

Not seen much of him either Set, but a quick search seems to suggest he'll be rivalling Rankin in the long range effort category:

... when he was 14.

But, yeah, I get the impression he's not going to be following Armstrong onto an OU Law degree.

Yes, but it only seems like a good move if we do it to other teams. Otherwise, it's a disgrace.

I assume Killie's sites have lots of comments on how they should have got more cash for him, he'll only be a bench warmer and he's thrown his career away...

His right foot seems okay as well.

I'm sure Killie's dozen or so fans are absolutely furious, though none seems to have an internet connection through which to vent.

I wonder if someone briefed him on the origins of Dundee United before he signed?

Dixon's signing's also flown under the radar a bit, have to say I'm very happy about it, if he's retained his form from 3-4 years ago he could prove to be an excellent attacking outlet.

Though safe to say the Huddersfield fans are divided about his abilities:

Sounds pretty much as we remember. Good going forward, not so reliable at the back. Although I was surprised there was little mention of his crossing.

I can see him whipping the ball in to Ciftci and that Arbroath lad with great success.

Yep, saw a few comments about the accuracy of his crossing and delivery from freekicks being disappointing. Not sure if that's higher expectations from fans in the Championship, or a loss of confidence and form?

We'll see, he'll definitely give us more going forward than Dillon....though to be fair to Seani, his defensive contribution was key on Saturday.

Always a joy to read opinions of Scottish football from the fans of a team that last won a trophy in 1922.

Re Mr Rankin and his alleged long-range shots; can anyone remember a goal from him from long-range (or indeed short-range)!
