There's going to be a lot of soul searching tonight from some of the arab's on here. I looked through page 1 of this thread, and I must say, it makes for some pretty grim reading. A few football fans having a long hard look in the mirror as they digest their sunday dinner tonight I expect. Food for thought. |

Certainly a good win, clean sheet, and and good to see Erskine get a goal. Hopefully we can take things into next game and get the defence with some confidence. |

Great result. Positives Defence was better than I've seen in months, even w/o Robie. Played well, but not brilliant. Oddities Stretch got replaced by Erskine very early in 2nd half. GMS hobblin round replaced by Super Mario. This moved Shifty onto the wing where he struggled Goals Dow goal strange. After poor backpass, Dow kinda tipped the ball which rolled across the line at a weird angle from the left GMS goal kinda similar but from the right. Clangers partly to blame for both. Erskine goal pass by Super Mario, then Erskine walloped it. Dont think Clangers expected it. Aberdeen played no bad, some good midfield play, but their finishing was crap. Negatives . Shifty a wee bit selfish a couple of times not passing when he should going towards goal. Rado punching a few times trying to clear. We know it doesnt wotk. Paton still making, too many backpases. |

In layman's terms these sheep were flipped over on all fours and given a solid beasting which rocked their world to it's very foundation. It sent a clear message to them that they are mutton dressed as lamb. They can forget about a top 6 finish this year because they've been found out in a big way. Only a few EPL players from the early noughties are capable of dishing out roastings like that...and some sunday roast lamb was a dish best served cold for these bleating buffoons. |

Judging by the Arabzone highlights ... Ash Taylor, the Aberdeen defender, completely pooped his shorts under pressure from Ciftci and tried the kind of back pass you might get away with at Tranmere Rovers. Dow was quick to pick up the loose ball and brave to go round the keeper on the post side. Excellent finish. Nothing strange about it. GMS's goal was via a play-turning tackle from Paton and an outstanding outside-of-the-foot pass from Ciftci, which if Clangers had come out for would at best have resulted in a 50/50. GMS's flick took an age to go in but he didn't seem in doubt where it'd end up. Again, good goal. Can't ask more of a counter attack. Third one .... Bilate runs like a steam train, more power than speed. His pass across goal took a lucky deflection and fell precisely into the stride of Erskine, who was doing the Armstrong-style late ghost into a (very underpopulated) box. It was a good enough finish but not a difficult one. |

Two very classy delicate finishes for the first two goals. Ciftci's through ball to GMS's run was superb. Didn't see any of the game. Any word on how players coped individually rather than my highlights oriented assessment? |

Well, re individual players, I thought most played well, Dow looked good and Erskine looked up for it when he came on. Ciftci could have been a bit less greedy with a couple of chances, but of course if they'd worked, we'd have been calling him a genius! His work and pass for the 2nd made up for it though. Defence looked good, hard to believe it was a new defence. Morris and Fojut were solid, no nonsense, no farting about with it. As the guy behind me at the game said 'that big bald c*nt at the back hasn't missed a header all day!' Compliments indeed! And as a fellow arab on the bus home added 'I like it that he's not like Gunning who seemed to think he was Franco Baresi!' That do you for a start? |

The most encouraging thing was the central defence, who won every single cross and high ball in the air. They were dominant. If Robertson were playing he would have had a field day down the left, but Townsend was solid enough, and I thought Watson had an excellent game, but when Pawlett was moved down his wing the pace was an issue. Interesting subbing of Stretch who I thought was playing well, but Erskine also did very well when he came on, and it could be that we now have a realistic alternative in the middle should McNamara want to change or rest players if he keeps that form up. The main issue for me was Czersniak, who was awful. COming for cross balls he would never get, and when he did get there would often just flap at it or push it weakly out. It will cost us goals and wins. |
