It doesn't seem finished, it's like they ran out of time and have the core there, but had to leave out much of the league aspect. Maybe will add soon.
I started entering a team using my usual method of picking the players with the funniest names. Then I got tired of the value weighting system and the whole squad construction nonsense so hit "random" a few times until "accept" lit up. Then I forgot my login details.

It was good when fantasy league stuff was "pick 11 players. Live or die by those choices. The end". These intricate in-play games that need to be tended to each day seem to me a load of bullshit, even when they work. Do people really want to play football Farmville?

Perhaps they do.

Idiots.

Pearce was an absolute hoot after that incident.
Props to Keown for remaining so calm in the face of such buffoonery and explaining it slowly to the poor man.
I'm not getting into a debate about whether it was a goal or not.
Chiefly because it clearly was.
Never trust a nation who thinks geoff hurst scored a hat trick vs west germany in 1966..

I'd beg to differ, that just rewards players who are lucky enough to 2nd guess who Low's going to pick at Left Back (and believe me there has been plenty of angst over that). Unless you give everyone unlimited funds and then everybody would just have a team made up entirely of Messis, RVPs and Mullers. Where's the fun in that.

Yep, guilty as charged.

Why, thanks. :fisted:

On a serious note it does help to make some of the less interesting games worth watching, had never heard of Pejman Montazeri until a week ago and now he's a legend in my eyes after getting a cleansheet last night while only costing £1m.

So: selling Spain at 8 and buying Italy at 28.
Italy now down to 19 and Spain up to .... um .... 780. Not a bad call, in retrospect.

A bit sad to see them so flat and uninspiring, but not unpredictable, just look at France not so long ago.

Up to second favourite at 5, moving ahead of Argentina who are on 5.3.

As of this moment, England at 29 looks the best value. But that'd feel dirty. In a bad way.

Yep, was sad seeing such a great team looking dead on it's feet.

Have to admit to being completely wrong with respect to Spain's chances. Sid Lowe seemed to suggest a few too many were emotionally and physically spent after the tight end to La Liga and the CL Final, and they lacked a 100% fit and in form striker like they had in David Villa in 2010.

Credit to Chile though, they deserved it for the singing of their anthem alone, that was incredible!

Poor England, can't even beat a largely average uruguay side.

Still, they're not out yet.

Ach well, England.
At least you can look forward to watching Andy Murray defend his Wimbledon crown.

edit - if you're on Twitter and don't follow @usasoccerguy, you really should...

GOALSHOT! Uruguys lead again! Stevie Gee with the head kick to his franchise buddy, but this ain't Mercy Town! Swearez with the score!

So England are crap because they play in a league dominated by foreign Johnnies. And Spain are crap because the foreign Johnnies are all knackered after a winning lots of things during the season. So .... er ... Holland to win the Cup?

Yep, the scrapping of the head to head result between 2 teams has allowed them a possible reprieve.

If Italy beat Costa Rica (odds of 8/15 on) and Uruguay (odds of 13/8), England "just" need to beat Costa Rica by 2 goals (or 1 goal if Italy beat them 2-0_?

So not exactly mathematical miracle time yet?

Bah humbug, we want closure.

I'd hope, if that transpires, England would still do the decent thing and go home in shame. You can't progress after losing two out of three group games.

Italy certainly need to increase their finishing quality a bit if they want to give England a chance.

England to go out in the Group Stage. Magic.
Can't wait for the closing-credits montage. Can't wait to see Wayne Rooney grimacing in slow motion like a confused potato. Can't wait to hear the mood of the nation summed up with pictures of glum kids in facepaint while some mid-charting melancholy acoustic doggerel drones on in the background. Will it be Editors? Or Ben Howard? Ellie Goulding, perhaps? Or Nick Mulvey? How about Elbow? Seriously: can't wait. It's the highlight of my World Cup.

Somewhat surprisingly it was Aimee Mann. She was in The Big Lebowski, y'know.

Almost as unlikely as Costa Rica's success, you'd imagine.
