I see, in tonight's Tele, that we've just splurged £50,000 on a new pitch and sprinkler system.

Funnily enough, I was thinking about the pitch after the season ended.

And the last thing I thought of was the ability to add even more water to the surface. Especially the soggy corner they've shown in the picture accompanying the article.

What I did think of was perhaps looking to invest in a grow-light system, which costs around £64,000 a year (but could conceivably cost half that).

Now, it's a hell of an outlay for one club but if you consider both Dundee clubs gave just relaid their pitches, and St Johnstone must have to do it occasionally, then might it be an idea for the three clubs to invest in the equipment?

Or perhaps the SPFL could buy several sets that could be rotated between the clubs throughout the season?

And before anyone says it, I know summer football would negate the need, but that's unlikely anytime soon.

Thoughts, anyone?

Anyone?

God, I can't wait for the World Cup to start....

Or just get a plastic pitch.

I guess we want a good surface for out passing game, so it's probably a worthwhile investment.

I like plastic pitches. The latest ones, anyway.
