Looks like Neil Lennon has become the latest Lennon to depart their managerial positions. Anyone worried that a) The Celtics might want Macramenana and b) We would miss him if he left? |

I think it's still a bit early for McNamara. Aside from the ex player, i'm not sure the celtic fans would want someone relatively inexperienced. Ok, they went with lennon, but he was already at the club. I think right now a managerial change would be a real upset. Things are progressing nicely, we've got our style and approach and losing that would be a blow. |

Had a squint at Paddy Power's market for the job after hearing the Pope was 500/1 (along with Pat Fenlon). No mention of Peter Houston though! Just while I was there Moyes contracted into 4/1 (from 11/2) and JMac into 15/2 (from 11/1). Anyway, three Champions League qualification rounds await the victor. Unless you're a Celtic 'legend' who can therefore survive a humiliating defeat, that's a grim prospect. Lenny's jumped at the right time. He's learned from his predecessor. |

Betfair market's here. At pixel time Jackie priced at 3/1, second favourite behind Larsson at 13/8. |

Browsing the celtic parts of the internet, anyone but Coyle or McNamara seems to be the trends. Malkay Mackay could be a decent option for them, although he could probably get himself a premier club at some point, maybe he fancies a bit of Europe and trophies. Think a good time for Lennon to move on. He's done all he'll ever do at Celtic, can leave with head high and try his luck someplace else. |

Why the aversion to Coyle & McNamara? I'm not saying they're the best options seemingly available, but I don't see why they should be so firmly avoided. Maybe the copious diddy club connections of both mean they are smeared in some sort of invisible diddy excrement only detectable by Old Firm nostrils? |

Jackie now out to 6/1 in old money. Dark Crystal remains favourite but has dropped back to 7/2, nearly equal with Moyes. Laying both of those looks a no-lose position as the worst you'll get is one payout. |

I think there's a feel of that, wanting to aim higher than the SPL I presume, especially one who's just failed to win a cup. Premier League manages, Clarke, Laudrup, Moyse seem to be preferred. To be fair Coyle's recent record isn't great. And also to be fair, I'm not sure too many people here including myself were massively keen on taking managers from what could be seen as lower levels with limited experience when McNamara was appointed. |

Doubt they'll go for Macnamara, not sparkly enough for them at the moment, especially having made a bit of a Pope's hat of the cup final. If he were to go, which he won't, I don't imagine it'd be the end of the world. The future of the club relies on continuing to invest in the youth system. While it can provide a reasonable stream of top six quality players then most halfway decent professional managers will be able to keep us in the 3rd-6th position we've become accustomed to occupying over most of the last 45 years. |

Wish I could learn to spell McNamara properly. Or at least its commonly used Anglicised version. |
