If he can play football couldn't care less if he looks like... what's his name... the wee bloke from the 40s wi the funny moustache, inclined to rant on a bit. Didna like getting beat.
Joey Barton.

So, based on an educated guess ... Is this guy Gunning's replacement? Or Butcher's replacement?
I mean come on..is that the best we can do????

Aye, because signing players from the lower divisions has never worked out for us before.

Its still a risky strategy..

The P&B crowd seem to think he's a proper hardnut who's quick and decent in the air, but prone to stupidity.

Worth a go, I guess. If he's rubbish, we've not lost much. Okay, it's not the old soldier who'd shepherd Souttar through games, but perhaps one of those might still arrive.

So, gunning mk II then.

Are we sure it's not just gunning in a fake mustache?

In The Sun, via The Scotsman.

Quote:

Rangers chief blasts Charlie Telfer

Rangers youth chief Jim Sinclair has said that recently departed Charlie Telfer is not good enough for a starting place.

The 18-year-old quit Rangers after 10 years at the club in the hope of elevating his skills to Premiership football with Dundee United. But Sinclair said: “Charlie is a skillful footballer but he is not quite at a level for me, that would command a first-team place at Rangers.

“Charlie is a young player with potential. But that’s all it is - potential.”

Midfielder Telfer made one substitute appearance for the Light Blues last season, playing 22 minutes in a 4-0 win at Stenhousemuir in April.

Strange negotiating technique.

Well he appears to be Left footed, and a fan of a strong tackle or two:

This tackle 6:10 into the video above is either promising or worrying, depending on your viewpoint.

David Goodroy has been released by Blackburn(£2m well spent), being linked with a move to Kilmarnock in the Herald.

So who would we prefer Boyd or Goodwillie.

I hope Goodwillie gets a decent move to a club where he can slowly build back up to being a sharp goal scoring striker and having the potential to push to a higher level, but it's not going to be with us. Didn't work last time, won't work this time.

Quoth The Courier ....

Quote:

Rather than fretting over possible departures, Thompson is spending the majority of his time working alongside manager Jackie McNamara trying to bring in new faces.

Dutch midfielder Marley Berkvens is understood to be on his way to Tannadice for a trial, while the Tangerines are now very confident of securing central defender Curtis Good back on loan from Newcastle.

Berkvens, 21, is a free agent after leaving SBV Excelsior at the end of last season.

A product of the Feyenoord youth system, the player should report for work with the rest of the squad when they return to training at St Andrews a week today.

Marley doesn't look like a Marley, judging by his slightly uninspiring showboat reel.

With all caveats about loan signing aside, I'm sure we'd all agree that Good's re-signing could be the best bit of (football related) business we do this summer?

Like a monkey delightedly pissing into its own mouth, it seems Boyd has chosen to return to the spiritual home of all cuntery. Good. It underlines that, no matter how many goals he scores, he has a terminal case of insufferable cockwallop.

The question now is whether we try to locate another ageing goalhanger or persist with Graham.
