Wait, let's just highlight the enjoyable parts of that story again. :banjmp:

We disagree on the most enjoyable part, Morv.

a move that will see the Tangerines eventually pay a development compensation fee.

Eventually. As in, "... well, I guess we can sort something out. But there's no rush, right? Oh, are you lot are a wee bit short of cash? Season ticket sales not so good? Shame. Well, let's see what the tribunal says ...."

It'd be unfortunate* if The Rangers died again in the interim. That'd make their eventual compensation claim like playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

* Hilarious.

Are we sure that's Kate Moss? Looks more like Squeaky Frome to me. Whether she'd be sufficiently supple, I hae ma doots.
Ok she didn't always keep the best of company and she might indeed no be sufficiently supple but if Squeaky can read the game, head the ball, mark the c*nt running roond tae the back post for a free header she'll dae at CH.

Anyway its all Helter Skelter...man.

How much compensation will we need to 'cough' if we sign Spittal? Does he have similar characteristics to George FLEMing?

Telfer signing confirmed.

Quote:

Dundee United today announced the signing of midfielder Charlie Telfer. The 18-year-old joins the Club on a three-year deal after his contract at Rangers expired.

The right-sided Scotland Under-19 representative joins United after spending over ten years with the Ibrox club and will link up with his team mates when the squad returns on 30th June.

Manager Jackie McNamara said, "Charlie is a very gifted footballer with great awareness and has excellent delivery from set pieces. His style of football will settle in perfectly with the rest of the young talent we are currently producing at the Club.

"He is a sensible, level headed young man who wants to play for Dundee United and I am delighted that we have secured his services for the next three years."

Charlie Telfer said, "I have watched how the younger players at United are allowed to develop in the first team and that has been a big reason in my decision to join the Club. The opportunity to play in the Scottish Premiership next season was also something I could not turn down. When I met the Manager and saw the facilities that are available at St Andrews, I know that I can further my football development at Dundee United.

"United received a lot of praise for their football last season and it was deserved as it is very easy on the eye. I like to get the ball down and play and this is the ideal place for that. I believe I am ready to play in the first team but I have to show the Manager that is the case. I cannot wait to meet my new team mates and start pre season."

Rangers let one of their young prospects go, and then look to resigning 34 year old Kenny Miller.

Their fans must be delighted.

And going by some of their forums, they are.

Under any other circumstances that would be a mad move, but now, with the second tier being unusually difficult to get out of next season and The Ibrox Club (TIC) having clearly chosen the promotion-at-all-costs approach, maybe a proven, hard working striker like Miller is what they need.

If you choose to think short term, at least commit to it properly rather than fanny about with promising youngsters.

Ooh, exciting! BBC reckons we're in for Kris Boyd after all!

That would be a very interesting signing.

Positives:

* Well, if he's playing for us he can't score against us.

Negatives:

You can take the Kris out of Ibrox, but you can't take Ibrox out of the Kris.

I preferred the Records version.

DUNDEE UNITED have joined the race to land striker Kris Boyd.

But they could face stiff competition from Aberdeen for the free agent frontman.

Tannadice boss Jackie McNamara has had informal talks with the 30-year-old, hoping to persuade him to be the spearhead for his cavalier kids next season.

And it’s understood he believes Boyd’s growing reputation as a coach and mentor would be a massive boost on the park for his young side.

Chairman Stephen Thompson is on standby to tie up a deal – despite being on holiday in Australia.

However, there is still serious interest in the Scotland striker from Aberdeen and Rangers.

If aberdeen are interested, they can outspend us, so if he's only after the money...

Or we could have our young players learning work rate and attitude from Boyd.

:haha:

He's younger than I thought. There's something decidedly dirty about being even ambivalent about this, but that's how I feel.

I'd have to say when I've heard him on the radio I've actually enjoyed listening to him.

It'd be pleasing if we also signed Fleck.
