Yup. No reason except "because". You're going to end up with a 40,000 crowd in a 60,000 seater stadium and many potential attendees unable/unwilling to go because it would be involve paying £35 for a ticket for a primary school child. So, the seats will stay empty. |

Is anyone doing anything to highlight the SFA's mistake and suggest the easy fix? Or are they just moaning on websites? Also, why are we upset about the trains? Apart from "descounted", I can't see much wrong there. |

I've complained to United about the unlimited tickets on offer to season ticket holders meaning that many other season ticket holders are unable to get the priority tickets. Been blanked of course. |

It was the late Jock Stein who once said that football in Scotland was a professional game rum by amateurs (meaning the SFA Sadly the debacle over the cup final tickets shows up for the umpteenth time that nothing has changed in the last 30 years. And sadly DUFC don't come out of this smelling of roses either. |

Train tickets available in Dundee only on Thursday and Friday not much use to me. Just hope there's still some left after that. |

Meh, I'm not too fussed about the discounted tickets selling out so quickly. Season ticket holders need some perks, and if that means weeks of distant acquaintances bugging them for tickets whilst the score of people they actually bought them for drag their heels paying for their ticket then cancel because they're going to Magaluf, I'm OK with it. The problem is that both discounted and full price tickets are too expensive. United seem to have tried pretty hard to change that with the SFA, to no avail, but instead got a much larger splat of concs made available. Now to chase down that season ticket holder who said he'd get me a couple and see if he got in on the discounted sale. |

Unless you know one of the half dozen boys on Fudball or Howling Mad who hoovered them all up, then you're out of luck. |

Twitter-flutter that the Chairman's requested more concession tickets. What form they'll take is unclear, or whether you can swap them for already bought £35 tickets. |

Still haven't found: 1. Any reason why the North Stand sale can't include concession tickets. 2. Any statement from the SFA saying the North Stand sale won't include concession tickets. 3. Any pressure on the SFA from fans to include concession tickets in the North Stand sale. 4. Any pressure on the SFA from the clubs to include concession tickets in the North Stand sale. 5. Any pressure on the clubs from the fans to pressure the SFA to include concession tickets in the North Stand sale. It'd seem an easy win for the SFA to say, "to reflect demand we're allocating a further 10k of family tickets" or whatever. There's no volte face and no downside for any of the involved parties, since selling seats for £10 is better than not selling them. So why is no one asking the SFA to do this? ETA: cross post with Reekie. Seems someone is. Good. As for giving the option to swap £35 tickets ... christ, that seems a complication too far. You don't get a refund whenever your airline ticket costs £100 more than your neighbour's. Suck it up. Edited by Naebody, Apr 30 2014, 12:14 PM.

A slightly specious argument that, given they way airlines taper their fares. Everybody on board knows that lots of different prices have been charged. That's not the case here. A big noise was made about United having secured 11,000 extra concession price tickets than usual. Once they'd all gone, it was fair to assume that it was indeed a case of paying £35 for your kids and having to suck it up. Now that there's a possibility of more concessions being issued in the premium areas, it'd be perverse in the extreme if people like Chippy were penalised twice, no? |

Looks like for the price of me and the kids going to the cup final, one of us could've gone to see Prince at the Hydro, almost. Will muse on this when St J are 3-0 up after half an hour. Luckily, I don't like Prince. Edited by Conan the Destroyer, Apr 30 2014, 02:46 PM.
