From the United website... *** Dundee United is pleased to announce that following robust and constructive discussions with the Scottish FA, the governing body has readily agreed to provide 16,000 concession area tickets, priced at £28/£10, for our fans at the William Hill Scottish Cup final on 17th May. The Club had raised strong concerns on the level of pricing and the initial allocation of concession tickets, which would have seen less than 5000 £28/£10 tickets available before purchases were directed towards the £35 non concession tickets. During the discussions we had requested that concession tickets be available in all areas of the ground but the Scottish FA correctly pointed out that this particular pricing structure has been in place since 2007. Director Derek Robertson said, "The Scottish FA has listened to our request for more concession tickets to allow families to attend this match. We have now secured double the number of concession tickets we had for our last cup final in 2010 and I believe this will be the largest ever allocation of this type of tickets to any club in a Scottish Cup final. "The Scottish FA has also agreed to allow us to sell the 16,000 tickets continuously without the need to sell out more expensive areas of the stadium first. This will give us a great opportunity to see as many fans as possible attend the game and support the team in what should be a fabulous occasion for the Club and the city of Dundee." Information regarding the sale of tickets for the showpiece event will be available on the Club website as soon as possible early next week. *** United must now ensure that some of these concession prices are available in the general sale. |

It would be nice if some of the cheaper tickers were for the stand not behind the goal. Sure there'll be plenty for the general sale. Our season ticket base shouldn't manage to get 16,000 of them, that'd be about 4 per season ticket. |

f*ckin hell - £35 is a ton of money for a match that will surely not sell out. Even £28 sounds like a lot for a bunch of miserable Dundonians and their extended families, friends, vague acquaintances and people in the office who agreed to come along since you had a spare anyway. Which I'm pretty certain was exactly what the club said to the SFA in negotiations. |

I'm considering not going. I'm surprising myself by considering not going. Not because it costs £35, though that's an extra disincentive. To be honest, the 2010 cup final was just a bit underwhelming. Got crap tickets and didn't really feel part of it. Can I really justify the 1500 mile round trip to watch a game that I'd reckon we should win but, really, am not that massively fussed if we lost? Hm. |

After yesterday's game there is no reason whatsoever to suppose this is a game we should win. |

Yeah, it's nothing like it looked in the brochure. ![]() This cup final's an odd one. If the team plays like it can it's a United win. But it appears the team hasn't played like it can since Gauld turned old enough to rent a Pedro Almodovar movie, so there's every likelihood of an underwhelming defeat. The other problem is that I just don't dislike the Johnstones. If we don't turn up and they win -- well, good for them, let's applaud politely then go to the pub. Without a sense of needle or acrimony it all feels like less of a drama. Are there any valid reasons to hate the Johnstones? |

Man, it's a game. There's no reason for hating anyone. Relax, smell the flowers, enjoy the day. Plus, the cheeky fermer cnuts have pumped us three times this year. They even have a guy deemed too pish for our reserves and too pish to send off playing centre half. |

St Johnstone say that they will give information about tickets tomorrow. I assume we will do the same and we'll know the cost of tickets and which stands United fans will occupy. |

I saw elsewhere on the internet that some supports are trying to raise £2k for the pre game display of some cards to hold up briefly. Can't help but think that the £2k could be put to better use. Could buy a few tickets for kids or something, or could get May really, really drunk the night before the final. |

First 'actual' confirmation I've seen of ends. http://www.spartansfc.com/2014/04/21/scottish-cup-final-tickets-2/ I hope north stand goes on sale too. That's where I'd like to sit. |
