Wow. That is so transparently open to abuse, as has been demonstrated, it beggars belief.
Ach well. No chance of him resurrecting hostilities with Tommy Wright then,
so at least he'll definitely be in the dug-out for the cup final.*

*unless he punches Lennon at Celtic Park...
He does have a history of violence.

Paton and Robertson also apparently doubts for the game, with tight hamstrings. Doesn't seem worth risking them.

Paton would be a big miss to the team, not sure if Gomis against St Johnstone would be the best setup. Dillon presumably would cover left back again.

Also, Butcher is out with broken foot.

Not enough interest in this one to even merit a mention since the game began then?

By al accounts we were wretched. Anyone who attended able to confirm that?

I went. Wretched is a bit much. Pish though. Our defence is chronic.

Very strong starting XI. Load of rubbish from them. Punt the lot.

At least we won't underestimate them for the final.

One of the few matches Ive missed this Season, at a family do out of town.

By all accounts not too hot. Fellow Arabs who were there told me that in the 1st goal Gunman was shouting at his own players whilst not paying attention to what the St Johnstone players were doing. Result of that was a goal. After the goal he was then shouting at the linesman. Result was that my m8 was shouting at Gunman.

Does anybody have any other details about the goals before I have to suffer in solitude in front of the box tonight in the company of Jonathan from Sutherland.

Second goal, I was laughing with my brother at the notion of Dave Mackay Flying Wing Back as he whipped the ball over, Rado made an arse of it and May tapped home from two yards.

The real Rado blunder is for goal one- he is at the far post well in time for the header which goes in - at the post- poor.

For the second goal the culprit is Soapy who is loitering back and out of position when he should be at the corner of the 6 yard box to cut out Mackay's cross- which he would have easily enough had he been there- its basic defending (as Hansen would say).

Really slack stuff all round that all but obscures the sole piece of skill in the match from GMS when he set up Dow's chance that was ballooned over the bar.

Rado has not been playing too well recently. Mistakes of his versus Hibs, St Johnstone and Sevco resulted in needless goals conceded. 1 clean sheet in 20 matches now. He and our defence need to cut out the daft errors.

Also there was another example of Rado keeching himself in a 50/50 situation, when the ball was dropped in between May, McLean and Rado, who shut his eyes, turned his back on it and hoped for the best.

Souttar was awful and the fact Mackay could suddenly turn into Cafu says it all.

I agree we weren't wretched, but we were poor. The problem being, when the nice football doesn't come off, as it didn't, we look very ordinary against a side who worked really hard.

And Steve May worked extremely hard and was well worth his goal. He really was impressive.

We've done ok against other hard working teams. I'm sure not if St Johnstone are the hardest working team, or the best hard working team but think we should have the players to beat them.

Defence never feels settled for me. Except Robertson, no players feels like they're a solid member of the back four. I'm hoping Good can slot back in quickly.

That line up I felt was about the strongest we could put out- which doesn't bode well for the final. Been to the last 2 games v St Johnstone and they're a better side than I initially gave them credit for. Solid, organised, work hard, play some decent stuff and they have a very good striker in May who caused us plenty of problems.

Having failed to score in either of these games, (and not really creating very much in either) I hope MacJac is thinking of different options tactically for the final. I know we have our system, which for the most part has been successful, but after having not much joy against the saintees lately, I'd hope we were at least thinking of possible alternative strategies to use. Their defence while solid and sound positionally, definitely lacks pace and I'd hope to try and exploit this more.

Paton was for me the standout player (he normally is), with GMS and Armstrong our next best. I think the criticism of Rado is very harsh, the first goal is a free header from a set piece and Keef has lost his man by some distance there.

I'm a big Souttar fan, some people forget the lad's still only 17. He's a terrific footballer and when he plays United are so much better at playing out from the back. Dillon gets scared after more than 2.5 seconds on the ball while Gunning seems to enjoy hitting long passes about 40 yards longer than they actually are. That said, Souttar was given a tough time in that match. For going up against May in err May (the final), it may be wiser to go with Dillon or Good instead.

If Good is fit again, I'd hope it's Gunning drops out rather than Souttar. If you're looking for a reason why United's defence looks unstable, it might be found between Gunning's ears.

I don't think you'll find anything at all between Gunning's ears.
