Our form right now is unbelievable, and we've not really had a bad performance since Inverness. This cannot last.

So what is going to bring it crashing to an end?

The easiest, quickest problem would be for Robertson to sustain injury or suspension. We don't have an obvious replacement for him, and he adds so much to our threat going forward.

Any circumstances that result in Goodie starting would also be bad. When he came on against Hearts, he looked like he was on a different, lower level than everyone else. Control and first touch has never been Goodrooy's strong point, but without doing anything drastically wrong, stupid or illegal, he looked out of his depth compared to what we have got used to over the past few weeks.

Of course, the apocalyptic option is a bid for several players in January. Hopefully our cashflow is strong enough that we don't need to sell anyone, but a team-wrecking "Gauld, Souttar, Robertson & Armstrong for £10m" would be hard to refuse. If I could advise any biggish club how to spend £10m, that's what they should do. Say Villa or Fulham.

Lennon could make it clear he was leaving The Celtics at the end of the season, and that would unsettle everyone if it looked like Macnajackiman was his replacement.

And of course there's the possibility the Law erupts. But at least Dundee would be f*cked as well.

You could rule the last one out as it isn't - and never has been - a volcano.

(Most Dundonians point blank refuse to believe this.)

Anyway, stop worrying about the inevitable interruption of inertia: enjoy it when it's good as this, too, shall pass.

At least in results terms, this season looks rather like the 1996–97 run after Tommy McLean was appointed. Therefore: form drops off in April-ish after being knocked out of the cup in the semis by the eventual winner. Drab relegation battle next season. Macnamara sells Gauld to Aberdeen for £700k + Cammy Smith then resigns after a poor start of the 2015-16 campaign.

I am enjoying it, and I'm not worrying about it Cob.

Just thinking ahead. On the off chance that the club read the board, you never know, it might be helpful to them.

And at least some of us can say "Told You So" when it eventually goes clunk.

Dundee Law .. is not a volcano - the rock that became Dundee Law was formed by a river of molten rock that travelled underground around 400 million years ago. Over time, this hard rock became exposed as the rock around it was eroded. The Law was then carved into its current shape by glaciers in the Ice Age.

Bollocks.

So what happened to change the "river of molten rock" into not-molten rock? "Over time" doesn't really explain it, nor does the easily observable fact that its volcano shaped rather than river shaped. I'll accept the erosion theory as plausible, but anyone saying it isn't the basalt plug of a fissure volcano is just asking for a kick in the cunt.

Eh? My cup truly overfloweth right now.

And United are a joy to watch. A f*cking joy. Every United fan, no matter how long lapsed, should get along to Tannadice to watch this team while they're still there.

Plus, of course, the more people go along to Tannadice the more likely the players are to prolong their stay.

Hope nothings gonna go wrong. But I do agree there was something up we Goodie on Saturday. Thought it wss maybe to dae with fitness over the last weeks, but definitely looked "down in the dumps", esp. at the end of gge match when he went doon the tunnel, while the rest of the squad were still on the pitch.

I made this point to a friend last night, who dismissed my talk of a title challenge next season..
There seem to be a lot of people out there just now, wringing their hands and saying, "If only we could hold on to them for another two seasons".
We can.
If another three thousand people buy season tickets.

Ah, yes, our resident expert in the arts, finance, spread betting, football (etc.) has added geology to his admirable list. Colour me surprised.

Yeah, I'm fucking brilliant. That's uncontestable. But I ask again: where's the evidence?

I would have thought the evidence was there for all to see over the past couple of years in this forum...one might call it anecdotal though without a trawl through the archives.

Or they all just run down their 2015/16 contracts.
