boys v men but it sounded just awesome on Arabzone's audio commentary alone. McJanamara whips aff Gauld before he glints too brightly in one place and Ciftci and Armstrong follow early doors afterwards- I hope the camouflage works.

Credit's due to Stuart McCall for giving credit, where credit's due.
Stuart McCall

I've had almost three years in the job here and that's far and away the best away performance that has been here.

BBC stats claim United had 18 shots on goal -- as in, one every five minutes -- with 50% of them hitting the target. That's pretty amazing.

This seems as good a place as any to note that my pre-season doubts about MacNamara were entirely unfounded.

4-0. Robertson smashes one home after having one disallowed and hitting the bar earlier in the game.

Four goals scored for the 5th time already this season. Now, if could just starting putting one win after another...
We scored 4 or more in at least five league games for all of 1980-1986 but getting so many high scores so early in the season is a first.

Just viewed the goals on ArabZone.
Wow.
Gauld's two finishes were excellent.
The first in particular, a leaping scissor-kick from the edge of the box after the keeper punched out, was an outrageous display of technique.
The second, rifled through the legs of the keeper from an acute angle, came after a beautiful through-ball from the excellent Ciftci.
Actually, Ciftci looked awesome, with a hand in the first three goals.
And Andrew Robertson's strike! Melted is the word, I believe.
Things is looking good.
Incidentally, anyone know what the spectacles celebration relates to?

They explained on Arabzone it means f*ck all. I'm happy to allow the wee boys to be wee boys as long as they continue playing like they are.

Imagine if we were able to keep these chaps together for a number of years through them wanting to have a shot at winning things rather than more money, like the core guys of the McLean years. If there's a mystery multi millionaire benefactor out there ready to spunk some millions into wages, please reveal yourself son.

In addition to our goalscoring exploits and defensive efforts, I'd like to commend Ranks and Quagmire II for the sterling job they've been doing in the breakdown, control and tempo roles.

Let's see how we cope when Andy Robertson misses a game before we dare to dream.

Take your point though Dud - the best players in that team are the younger ones, and the more experienced core are in roles that are more easily replaced, as well as being not so much in demand by other teams.

Although that's not to say Sevco aren't about to conclude from our excellent performances that they absolutely must have John Rankin on £20k per week.

20k a week at least.

Back to Gauld, he's got that canny ability of making it look like the ball is stuck to him like a magnet, hardly surprising Real are after him.

:holein1: I did it! I bloody did it! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :holein1:

Maybe if the staff do a lot of talking about Scott Allan and encourage Goodwillie to say much he'd rather be playing than getting paid loads...

To be fair, McCall seems to be fair. Always liked him as a player and respect him as a manager.

Good point about Scott Allen (and Bulkroy), I'd forgotten about him already.

I'm taking requests for our next game. Anyone getting ABBA adverts yet? :caffine:

Robertson also gave credit to Ranks and QII in the post-match interview on Arabzone (tagged onto the end of the JaMaracna interview). He also looks about 14.

He was in the McInally mould as a player and he's done well as a manager but I do hope he had a good cry last night.
