Less than a week to go to the start of the new season - predictions for places?

1 - Celtic - Worse than last year, but still good enough. Don't make CL Group Stages this year.
2 - Aberdeen - Experienced squad with some decent young players, hungry manager seems to mean could be good season.
3 - Motherwell - Lot of change, but enough to stay top half confortably.
4 - ICT - Steady.
5 - Hibs - Up and down, but with enough quality even with griffiths to hit Top 6.
6 - St Johnsone - Zzzzzz
7 - Kilmarnock - Zzzzzz
8 - United - Inconsistent with signs of promise, but overall not enough to get to the Top 6
9 - Partick - Good start, tough middle, enough at the end to stay up with a few games to spare.
10 - Ross County - Not able to live up to last years showing, but McLean is outstanding in defence.
11 - Hearts - Make up the -15 points but always close to the bottom.
12 - St Mirren - Older players declining, not much else,

First manager to go - Lennon
Next Club threatened with admin - Kilmarnock.
Premiership - Chelsea

2. Motherwell or Aberdeen. Both with some good signings and managers I rate.
3-7. Yahtzee roll.
8. Kilmarnock - Killie they've been pish for years, yet always manage to stay up.
9. Dundee United - does depth over strength often work? Poor preseason topped by an apparently spawn-encrusted win against an apparently half-bothered Wigan, half a squad of very lower league unknown quantities, dodgy looking defensive capabilities, first full transitional season for the boss, Goodroy gone by January. Seventh absolute tops. On the plus side, goals galore at both ends, with Armstrong and Gauld in particular developing into stunning players, please.
10/11. St Mirren / Hibs- both pish.
12. Hearts - 15 points and a team/club in a tizz.

Competition time:

List your predicted finishing positions and I'll do whatever it was that I did before to decide who wins at the end of the season. I think Ivan won it last time.

And don't worry, I will find a way to penalise Chippy again.

Optimism about Utd's challenge is based on:
- we had a managerial change/major injury problems/players coming to the end of their contracts and potentially losing motivation/were mostly p*sh last season defensively and still finished 6th!
- Aberdeen apart I don't see our rivals being that much stronger than last season
- in Goodwillie, Armstrong, Gauld, GMS (and potentially Çiftçi?) we've easily got some of the best young attacking talent in the league

OK, here are The Rules:

It's a penalty based scoring system, where the highest score wins but you're likely to end up with a negative total.

-1 for each position you are out for each team. E.g. You predict United finish 4th but they actually finish sixth - you score -2 points.

+3 for correct prediction of league winner & relegation

Joker - one team is your joker, and your score for that team will be doubled. You must play your joker. Celtic and Hearts cannot be played as your Joker. If you do not choose a Joker, a Joker will be appointed for you. And that Joker will be Dundee United.

One change allowed at end of January transfer window at the cost of -1 points.

Late entry allowable at the cost of -1 points for each round or part of round of games you have missed.

These rules were fully endorsed and ratified by Reekie when he stated

This is not the place for nit-picking others' predictions. What are yours? State them and be judged. In ten months.
