BBC now saying bid for Russell by Derby County has been accepted by Dundee United. Downer.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22765076
Not really. He's going to go, rather he went there than you ken who.

Oh aye Conan. With your there definitely. It's just the thought of already loosing our 2nd top goalscorer, and now our top goalscorer, 35 goals between them.

If Rustle tries to hold out for a Celtics bid, I hope United don't accept any bid, should it arrive, less than £850k as a premium for them behaving like dicks about it. Err sorry, for using game theory.

Call it a tartan tax or summat.

Courier says there's still lots of thrashing to do.

Quote:

However, the fine details are still being thrashed out and, as things stand, Russell, who scored 20 times last season, remains a United player.

Even if agreement is reached between the clubs, there are still several hurdles to overcome before he can be unveiled at Pride Park.

Russell is abroad on holiday but would have to return to undergo a medical, then he and his representative John Viola would have to thrash out personal terms with Derby.

Sounds very much like everyone knows there is another bid out there waiting to come in just in time to f*ck up the Derby move.

Aye, starting to look like Derby are the bitches that do all the legwork and then end up getting nipplefcuked.

In other news, sources are saying that Alan Tam Steven McManus Galleries weraring Tangerine next season is a real possibility. Not quite of Romanian thug stock, but certainly the strapping grunt that me and Skellie have been vocal about getting in. Add in Goodroy and things are looking the fcuk up :banjmp:

McManus would, in theory, be a bloody brilliant signing. Talismanic, even. He's precisely the player we need.

If this signing happens, we're nailed on for second in the league and one of the cups, preferably the good one. NAILED ON, I tell you.

<pedant>If it's STEPHEN McManus, I'd be very happy with that as well.</pedant> ;)

From the Express:
Quote:

McManus, who has 26 caps, is a free agent after leaving Championship side Middlesbrough at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old centre-half, who has also had two loan spells at Bristol City, is considering coming back to Scotland for family reasons, however he knows that if he does that then he will need to take a massive wage cut.
I kind of know what they mean, but when you're a free agent it's difficult to take a "wage cut" no?

McManus would be a very good signing and would probably be good for Souttar.

Luckily we haven't alerted any of our rivals to the move in time for them to scupper it....

Spence now saying (seven minutes ago) the deal will be done in half an hour, so if Celtic are sniping it they really ought to hurry up.

As for McManus, I assumed that telling us was just the second slice of a shit sandwich, as in:

!!Goodwillie!!
(Russell's off)
!!!McManus!!!

And now Justle has agreed terms and is off for a medical. On Monday. Plenty of time for The Celtics to pick off their prey!

Well, what's to talk about?

I guess there's this ....

Quote:

CONTRARY to reports on the BBC website this afternoon, Rangers Football Club can confirm we have no interest in signing former Dundee Utd players Prince Buaben and Morgaro Gomis.

The players’ agent has been in contact with the club to highlight their availability however we have no intention of signing either midfielder.

Rangers fans can keep informed with accurate information on club media channels

Which is a rather petulant wee slap at Jim Spence, who reported ...

Quote:

Salami told BBC Scotland that he has opened discussions with the Ibrox club, but had also been entertaining interest from England.

"I have spoken to Ally McCoist about them," said Salami. "Aberdeen and Hearts are also interested. The clubs know them well from their time in Scotland. "There is also interest from Championship clubs. I expect something to happen in the next two weeks. The players want it all sorted before pre-season training starts."

Why would you get indignant because the BBC reported something someone had told them, naming the source and using direct speech? Good old Traynor, the hypocritical cockwad.
