I can assure you all that Chris Erskine, on his day, is absolutely unplayable. He will have no trouble cutting it at SPL level.

How often is he on his day? Is he more of a sometimes brillaint sometimes anonymous player?

He seems to fit into what we need, flexible attackers, so seems a good signing.

This season he has become a lot more consistent than he has been in previous years. He's never really anonymous anymore and even if he's having an off day he'll still try and track back and help out all over the pitch. So yeah, as much as it pains me to say it, you've made a good signing.

Cheers Jagsfan and welcome.
Appreciate the opinion.
Sorry we nicked Jackie but it doesn't seem to have affected you that much and, all continuing well, we'll be having a bit of pre-match chat next season if you fancy it.
Since you're here, would you clear up whether Paton's a defender or midfielder?

Up until Jackie came along Paton was a right back and then he was converted to a centre mid so it is likely that is the role he'll play at united. Haha thanks and that sounds good if/when we get promoted.ll

Thanks for clearing that up Jagsfan, perhaps Paton's signing isn't such bad news for Watson's career at Utd after all....

Re Erskine, is he more of a central attacking midfielder, or wide attacking player (if so left sided or right)?

And do they have funny nicknames or off-field activities?

You should be aware that, after the Goodwillie, Allan and Swanson problems, we are now building a team of highly articulate young men on a gap decade before studying law or medicine, so I hope they are up to snuff.

I see the SPFL are trying to f*ck up the harmony of Tannadice terraces by anointing regular boo-boy Paul Paton their Player Of The Month.

See here.

I guess with the goals and and games against dundee he's stood out, but his selection is a bit of a surprise. Still, hopefully gives him a nice boost.

This appears below a big picture of Paul Paton's lampjaw. The Sun has very good lawyers.

Quote:

FOOTIE stars were quizzed by cops yesterday amid claims Celtic keeper Lukasz Zaluska was attacked outside a pub.

The Polish goalie, 32, below left, was allegedly left in a pool of blood outside the Glasgow bar at 12.30am.

Dundee Utd aces Paul Paton, 27, below right, and Mark Wilson, 30, were also in the West End but the three were not partying together. Police were called after Zaluska was left with a head injury — with blood stains spotted on the pavement nearby in Ashton Lane. Sources claimed Zaluska was punched, hit a wall and was knocked unconscious.

It's alleged Zaluska and another player had words in a bar.

But it's claimed that as the Pole went to get a taxi, he was approached by the other player. The ex-Dundee United stopper was treated at the scene and taken to the Western Infirmary. His condition was unknown yesterday. Other Premiership players were also reported to have been present and were spoken to by cops.

The full extent of their involvement in the incident is not yet known. CCTV is being scoured for clues. Police Scotland said: "We are investigating the report of an alleged assault on a 32-year-old male in Ashton Lane in the early hours of Monday.

"Police inquiries are ongoing, including the monitoring of CCTV."

They would not confirm reports another SPFL player attacked the Celtic ace, or confirm any names of an alleged suspect. A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We received a call saying a man had suffered head injuries in Ashton Lane, and was taken to the Western Infirmary."

Last night Celtic said they were unable to comment.

It comes six years after ex-Hoops boss Neil Lennon was assaulted in Ashton Lane.

The Record, which has worse lawyers, suffices with lots of pictures of Mark Wilson and the phrase "Zaluska's face exploded".

Interesting times.

Another sad chapter in Ashton Lane's descent from charming lane of mingling students, artists and wannabes to the venue for footballers to be assaulted.
