Appears that the SPL say that they dont have enough innformation to be able to punish Hearts based on its own definition of an insolvency event. Bizarre.
The Hearts situation is as clear as mud and a financial minefield at the moment. A pragmatic view at the moment would be "Lets wait and see" I don't think by any means Hearts are out of the sh*te as yet.

Division 3 as The Hearts next season ? :hat:

If I was a Hearts fan I'd be happy with any sort of team still playing league football at Tynecastle next season.

Although part of me thinks it would be real funny if they went bust, reapplied for SPL and we voted them in! Just think how raging the orcs from mordor would be!!

All must be well, since they've signed Danny Wilson on a 3 year deal....

F*ck knows how they're signing anyone, let alone someone quite good like Wilson.

Hearts' finances have made no sense for years and there's no sign of that stopping.

A few Jambos I've spoken to reckon Wilson is sh1tee and not half as committed to the club as someone like Darren Barr

As Hamish pointed out on the DG thread, sounds like the inevitable's happened and Hearts are going into administration.

Have to admit to being a bit depressed by this, as lesser known 'normal' employees at the club will lose jobs, small firms will go unpaid etc, etc.

Not sure any replacement from Div 1 will help the SPL economically if Hearts go down as well.

Assume the Dees have no chance of staying in ? My assumption is based on the lack of moon howling today.

I think the rules are that because they go into Administration in the "Close Season", then the points are deducted in the following Season, ie 2013/14. Therefore Hearts would start the new Season on -15 points.

Yes, that's correct Tom, so the Dees narrowly missed out on staying up. Which I'm sure the bean-counters at Tannadice won't be pleased about.

I agree with Jimmy Gomis, but the Dee have been given the shitty end of the stick over the past two seasons - promoted at the last minute when they weren't ready for it, then relegated because Hearts teased out their inevitable insolvency event so that it occurred in the close season.

I don't usually feel sorry for them.

F*cken Hearts though - living in a financial fantasy land for a long time now - the only surprise is that HMRC don't seem to be a major creditor which may allow a creditor-shafting tiny CVA offer that means they eliminate their debt and have a rosy future.

Or their ground gets sold, flattened, and they begin to roam the earth looking for somewhere to play football.

Joy - John Brown agrees with me. And so he should.

Note: I haven't read past the headline and striking photo, so if he veers into a race hate diatribe you should not infer any prior agreement with my own views on that subject.

Your on the nail Morvant. In round figures, that would be 2 Home matches we've lost c/w 5000 extra supporters for arguments sake. Thats approximately £200000 we've lost theoretically, and so have Dundee.

After reading whatsonyourback's post below yours, it got me thinking that this might backfire on Hearts next Season. Dundee or Morton should come up next Season. Hearts its possible get relegated. But who are they gonna be competing with to get promoted back to SPL? The Huns. Hell mend them.

They haven't really "gotten away with it", as "Bomber" suggests. They're 15 points at the start of next season.

That makes scary reading for Hearts fans, if they get relegated next year and subsequently stay 2 seasons down in Div 1 that would be fairly calamitous for the club.

Of course there's a chance they could still stay up next season, and even if they don't there should be a play-off spot for the 2nd team in Div 1 to aim for in 2014-15?

If they go down, losing out to the holding company that owns the company that purchased the assets of the club called Rangers will only be a problem if they don't budget in the vicinity of their revenues.

It's not rocket science despite football clubs making it seem that difficult. In fact, football clubs have relatively stable and predictable revenues compared to other businesses. It should be easy.
