I agree with Chippy on his voice - it's utterly unbearable, especially on the radio. I generally have to turn it off if he's speaking for any more than a soundbite.

With him and that utter c*nt Balls as the top two in Labour, they're not making it easy for people to vote for them.
Does a voice really matter? Is it really that unbearable. Enough to not vote for someone even if you agree with most of their policies?
Yes. Politics is showbiz for the ugly, but it pushes it too far to also have a candidate with an intolerable voice.

Maybe he could get a voice double? Gerry Adams?

Jeairreh's voice is normal for Norn Eirln though, Miliband sounds like he's speaking with a mouthful of custard.

But seriously, would someone's voice stop you voting for someone, even if they were your preferred candidate in terms of policy?

No, nor looks, and Alex Salmond is evidence of that. But when you're voting for a party you're not voting for a one-man band, you're voting for an organisation. They choose someone they think represents the party and will connect with voters to spearhead their campaign for election. Choosing a rejected Muppet isn't the first way to grab people's attention, but then choosing someone who also has an extremely irritating voice and a very awkward geeky persona is a sure-fire way to turn voters off. As if Labour hadn't turned enough people off in their metamorphosis already.
