A Tale of Two People Who stole £40,000 from the Government

1. Isobel McDonald quite rightly jailed for 21 months for benefit fraud.

2.David Laws MP defrauded MP expenses ,kept his salaried job as an MP, lost his cabinet post at the time, but has just been brought back into the cabinet 2 years later.

disgusting :smack:

While I’m at it, nice to see Cameron and Osbourne come in for a roasting from the para-Olympics spectators. Especially Cameron who has been whoring himself around the whole Olympic thing all summer trying desperately to have some of the success of the games benefit his popularity. A very big well done to the crowd at the aqua-dome who gave him a right good booing. Handing out gold medals while his government cuts benefits to disabled people. Talk about giving with one hand and taking back with the other and not even embarrassed about it. The man has such a brass neck!

Spectacularly cuntish cabinet shuffle today - homeopathy enthusiast, corporate tool, useless, rhyming slang appointed to Health, anti-environmental appointed to environment, burglar-killing recommender to justice, anti-abortion and gay marriage twat to equality, and [edit] don't forget a non-lawyer as Lord Chancellor.

Tories showing their true colours, which could be good for other parties coming up to the next election as it makes the differences between the Tories and the rest more obvious, but not so good for good govt over the next 2.5 years.

At least one good thing then.

It doesn't seem to be the most sensible re-shuffle overall, but he does have limited options.

Is he actually in the cabinet? He doesn' make the Who's Who gallery of the new cabinet, instead being mentioned as in the Education department.

I think Osborne got the biggest boos. I don't think Cameron can win. If he'd stayed away fowk would be slagging him off for disrespecting the paralympians. He does, after all, represent a body that has channelled £9bn+ into the whole shebang. That should at least warrant a few free tickets.

Ha! You....

You are joking, right?

What's the big scoop? A government overloaded with twats appoints twats to prominent positions.
Yeah, we need to endure them for the next couple of years and hope the damage isn't too irreperable but, as has been pointed out, it only makes their eventual departure all the more inevitable.

As well as, possibly, Scottish independence...

With the usual disclaimer of only having skimmed the news reports for this particular case, using a legally owned gun to scare off intruders on your own property I don't have issue with, even if scaring off means shooting them. It's less about guns and more about general force to defend, as the guy with the cricket bat showed, you don't need a gun to do damage.

Appointing people to departments they seem to have contempt for would indicate to me that more cuts are on the way. When Lord Lawson is pleased with the new environment minister...

The booing of Osborne was spectacularly entertaining, the initial jocular look on his face....slowly fading to an "oh shit, they really hate me don't they" look.... :banjmp:

Serves the c*nt right, let no-one ever forget the new improved, nicey, nicey, touchy feely Tory government cut income tax for those earning over £150,000 while reducing disability benefits by 20%.

The problem with the Paralympics is that it shines a light on a group of highly motivated and determined individuals who happen to have a disability. Somewhat wrecking the bullsh*t Sun and Daily Mail inspired notion that everybody claiming disability benefits is a scrounger.

The Tories are not just economically and organisationally clueless, but ideologically wrong headed as well. The more they open their mouths and say what they actually think, the more the electorate will wise up to them ahead of the next election.
