Waldo Jeffers Posts: 4,443 Group: Members Member #3 Joined: September 10, 2010	So we have the customary summery prelude where we a have a hot spell, everyone predicts a hot long summer, and then we have drizzle throughout July and August. However. Since the hot firey thing in the sky is doing it's best to us right now, what tunes do you like to accompany the summery mood? I have the old favourite of anyone with any taste - Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder - on right now. The sweet melodies and harmonies, along with the fluid rhythm and playfulness make it a winner for accompanying the crisping of my flesh. The Stone Roses also works for me as a summery bliss out, as does Screamadelica and The Mock Turtles' Turtle Soup - one of the lost indie-pop albums. The West Side Story soundtrack also oozes heat and sweaty passion. Those all sound a bit old and well-worn - what would you recommend? Anyone mentioning that song by Katrina And The Waves will be banned. Eh, Setenza, isn't that right? Eh?

Can I add The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik and The Average White Band's greatest hits to keep the funky theme going, and definitely some Jackson 5.

Cracking song but of belle and sebastians efforts I would think " another sunny day " was more summery. It all about the circumstances when you first heard the song I guess. For me a summer song would be the canadian one hit wonders len and "steal my suinshine"
