We usually defeat the Hun at Ibrox when I'm abroad. Most famously when we horsed them 3-0 in December '93 while I was in New York (I rang home - pre-internet days of course - on the Sunday to check that the New York Times's score was not a misprint). Will be in Paris on Saturday, so hopeful of a good result. Will consult the Blackberry at the appropriate moment - and will raise a goblet of something nice should my glass half-full feeling be confirmed. Reckon Russell might be a key man. | |||

I'm disappointed. If we're assuming JMW was SJP1 then GMS would be SJP2 and KMB would be SJP3, simply by chronology. LDV has never to my knowledge been an SJP, while Sandaza was only ever Tasmin Greig. I'm too young to remember if Jean-Jacques Missé-Missé was hilariously misidentified as an actress, though at a guess I'll say Jennifer Jason Leigh. Nil nil. |

There are plenty of Hollywood actresses that -strictly sexually speaking- I wouldn't touch with yours, Naebody. Unless you're trying to say that Kathy Bates and Glenn Close are somehow beautiful in an out of the ordinary fashion? Sarah Jessica Parker is supposed to be a very nice genuine person, according to my wife who used to work in a big swanky hotel in the US and where SJP was a fairly regular visitor. Having said that, I don't find SJP in any way pretty. And she wasn't 'hot' when she was in Twisted Sister either. |

Character actors, obviously, don't count. But if anyone can name a pre-menopausal leading lady they wouldn't stick based exclusively on aesthetics then I'm interested. It's a feminist argument, believe it or not (albeit a crap one). There are no female equivalents to Phillip Seymour Hoffman or Jack Black. Why not? It's not overly healthy to have the visual spectrum so skewed on one side of the gender divide. And lumping women such as SJP into the category of unattractive when at most they're slightly unconventional against the cheerleader archetype only exacerbates the problem. I mean, she's married to Ferris Bueller for f*ck sake. Still nil nil. |

Has an SJP look about her. But taller, and more butch. Sissy Spacek. Mia Farrow. They were leading actresses back in the day, weren't they? I presume unattractive doesn't necessarily equal character actor, as well. |
