Yeah, Flood's shown his penalty shoot out abilities before. |

With a rugby-esque conversion. reekie, what were the final shot stats? We must be in the 20s. |

Pish. Who's idea was it to allow Flood to recreate his parting gesture from a few years ago.

East Football is going to be fun tonight... I don't want to go to Dunfermline on Saturday, but I know I'll be there. This upsets me. |

Either he's been listening to too many of the arseholes who sit near me in the George Fox, or else they have been listening to him! No, not a great result, and in amongst a few other poor results but it's pricks like him who encourage the 'Houstie Out!' wankers. |

Well, the notoriously random BBC stats were 13-on and 17-off. Not that it matters now, mind... |

I don't think Houstie's covering himself in glory right now but it would be cheeky as fuck for Thompson to put him under any pressure this season. It wasn't Houston who put the club millions in debt and it wasn't Houston who decided that the only solution was to cut the squad down to the quick. |

Ach, it's the hyperbole of modern life. Everything these days is 'best ever' or 'worst ever' and 'crisis' replaces bad run. It isn't a crisis for us like when we were in the 1st division and struggling to get up via the playoffs, losing to Dumbarton on the way. It's a challenge, certainly, and if we keep on losing then it could well be just that (and you could say that for half the league easily), but we're still in a place where even winning the next game could lift us up into the top 6. |

True, though I don't remember anyone complaining at the time. I have absolutely no memory of anyone on this board suggesting that fraction of the wage could've been better used on -- for example -- a bignosed Spanish Doris with a strong affinity for United who could play up front. Hindsight, eh? What a c*nt is hindsight. |

It was actaully reasonably decent for most of the game, and we really should have won by a little bit. Plenty chances spread around Daly, Valle Dalle, Douglas and Robertson, about 2 each, as well as clear headers at corners that went over when should have been on target. Defence seemed ok, but then losing the last goal which was a punt up the park that we never cleared desptite having Kenneth and Gunning close by was very poor. Their first was a result of their only tactic - long balls and crosses to their striker. Obviously, but effective. Bringing Russell and then Armstrong on seemed to start us playing with a bit more intent between midfield and attack, up until then it was not great build up, threat came out wide with Dixon and Watson, which was fine, but wasn't really getting us very far in terms of breaking them down. Losing out to a team with a a 17 year old left back and 18 year old central defender I'm sure will sting a bit for Houston. He can't complain about out lack of depth against that Falkirk team, who were very very young, yet put in good effort. Their number 8 was very tidy in possession just sitting in front of their defence and did a job we need. Our best play came from our players from the bench, so I think Houston is on a losing argument with his line. Ref was good. Overall, I don't want to be too critical the amount of chances created was good, but at the same time, we should have done better and confidence it clearly low.
